Your summary of go servers made my day as a 57 year old absolute beginner - and you actually help me to loose my fear of playing with others!
After having dipped my toes into go rules for a few months I was told to play (and loose) a thousand games in order to see Ataris and overcome kid's mistakes.
So I decided to declare myself a 100k-player and each 10 games take 1k of.
This is constant self-motivation until I reach my real level ;-)

Hey, love this video! A good note for beginner players looking to get into playing online is that GoQuest (the mobile game service first shown) actually scores games using the chinese rule set rather than the Japanese rules which have thus far in this video series been the main subject. For any beginners out there, the general idea behind the Chinese rule set does not take captures into account and placed stones do not take away from your territory score.

Thank you so much for this video series.. I just started to learn how to play Go, the rules indeed sound so simple, but it's getting much harder when I encountered the real game. Really need to master the strategies.

I definitely prefer Fox. There are always people to play fast games with. OGS is good for studying though.
