Great review Steve, eagerly waiting for the Hisense U7N calibration settings.

Hisense looks very interesting. It does appear that the black levels are slightly lifted. All the talk about brightness may have a negative of lifted blacks. I would think that could be adjusted by lowering the brightness a little. Great review!

I had the 55" QM7 for a couple months before I knocked it over and cracked the screen last week...FOR ME, out of the box calibration was good, just a few minor tweaks with brightness levels and what you were watching...viewing angles were great, gaming was great, movies were great, although Cobra Kai did stay in Dolby Vision so colors were not that great. Watching the Olympics, preseason and baseball was great. I bought this TV at 499, I would not buy this at regular price of 799...so get this on sale...For me it's the good viewing angles, compared to the Hisense...

Just bought a 65in U7N for $749.99 from Best Buy online for store pickup later today, excited to get out of work and get it to rush and set it up! Coming from a 55in Vizio from Walmart back in 2019 so I can only imagine the improvements!

Hisense definitely has some nice bass to it. Although from what I can see, the QM7 seems to have better black levels and the U7N seems to not do blues very well. It was noticeable on the sky and the graphics from the sound test.

I have the tcl qm7 85in and when calibrated and you bring saturation down to 45 it looks just like the u7n minus the green tint. It really does look like you got a weird model cause mine doesn’t look that red. I wanted a tv where the blacks are like an oiled and I think the tcl qm7 does that where the u7n looks washed out in certain scenes. But I do have to say when you did the lion side by side I liked the picture quality better on the u7n. I think it comes down to user preference.

Great video Steve! I think the Hisense will be my TV of choice come year end... I'll wait till black Friday specials come out and make the purchase then.

just bought the hisense. I was coming from a sony x950h that was 2500$ new 3.5 yrs ago, ithad a bad panel and I wil never spend that much again especially on sony. I just got the hisense and it compares pretty well with the sony for less than half the price. The processor isnt as good, but for half the price the tv is pretty damn good. I got the delivery set up and 5 yr warrany and it cost 1400. I dont know how long it will last thats why the 5 yr warrany. I would give it about a 8 rating im pretty happy so far lets see if it lasts

I thought the TCL looked much better and brighter but i would like to have the options of the hisense.

I prefer the Hisense U7N particularly because of the Framerate display on the screen among other things

Great video Steve!! Do you believe that there may be a defect or panel lottery issue with the TCL regarding the red tint issue??

Wow, I was all excited about the QM7, but I was not aware of how gaudy the picture is without calibration. It seems to me that that if you are not a technical person who can fool around with calibration, the Hisense might be a better choice.

Amazing review! Thank you. The TCL generally seems more saturated, especially the reds as you mentioned. Could the Hisense color just be turned up if someone wanted a little more vividness? I agree with you the whites on Hisense are better. I’m leaning towards the Hisense and wondering if color/saturation/vividness could just be turned up on Hisense if wanted

I have the 55-inch TCL QM7, and I haven't noticed a red tint in mine. Ima take a look at it again. Maybe it's there and just didn't notice it.

Excellent review Steve. I'm a TCL QM 8 guy. It looks like the QM 7 is screwed up. It's way to red. As a result the Hisense looks way to green. I did notice on my U7k I fooled around with the settings so much that I had to reset all of the settings. You may have such a problem. What's wrong, I don't know. But something is wrong somewhere. I think.
