This chemistry tutorial video explains how the valence shell electron-pair theory can be used to determine the shapes of molecules such as linear, tetrahedral, trigonal pyramidal etc.. It covers molecules that have central atoms with no lone pair of electrons and not more than four surrounding atoms and molecules with not more than two lone pairs of electrons on the central atoms and not more than three surrounding atoms.
