This is the song that ended the 1960s and dragged rock music kicking and screaming into the 1970s. Zeppelin were the biggest band in the 1970s.
Robert Plant, the singer, was just 20 when he sang this. From the West Midlands. West Bromwich.
Top of the Pops took this as their theme tune for many years.

This is the epitome of rock. These are the icons of rock. Zeppelin is the rockiest of rock. In the dictionary next to “rock” is a picture of this band. All rock music that came after this was in some way influenced by this rock band.

Jimmy Page was using a violin bow across the strings of his electric guitar for that part you are talking about, and yeah it's really cool how they pan it from one side to the other like something speeding by. Amidst all the other chaos and oh my God I love John Bonham's drumming so much. But then again jpj is masterful bass player and creates wonderful Ambiance on the keys. They were all so talented.❤

It's good to see young people listen to led zep. Put led Zeppelin on, lie down on your bed close your eyes and let their music take you on a journey. You'll never find a band with the same groove led zeppelin had.

Yes, this is rock. In fact, Whole Lotta Love is the standard which all other rock songs are measured.

That middle section is for the benefit of those doing hallucinogens. This was released in 1969, so that was a huge audience. Jimmy Page was famous for using a bow to play his guitar, or dragging the pick along one of the wound strings to get various sound effects.

Great reaction, Rere! Lots of people say that Led Zeppelin is the greatest Rock band ever. I can't argue that they're wrong! If you go deeper into their catalog you'll find that every song sounds different, but as soon as you hear it, you'll know it's Zeppelin.

Led Zeppelin is Rock, but it's more than just amazing music, it's a mood, it's a point of view. These guys are seriously crazy musicians. Perhaps the greatest Rock band ever. These guys set the standard for some of the greatest rock music of the 60's and 70's They are gods. LOL.

I saw them playing at their first ever gig outside London at the Bath Blues Festival in 1969. They weren't the main act, and not many people had heard of them (including me), but they brough tthe whole audience to its feet. They were just astonishing. The rest is history.

I am 70 years old and have seen Zep twice in concert and I can still listen to most their songs another thousand times!
