Can you imagine watching Ludwig Van conducting this at its premiere and you're crying your eyes out at this beauty but still wondering what are all those other people doing just sitting up there above the orchestra not knowing what the 4th movement will bring?

Imagine a blind person painting the Mona Lisa? That's the equivalent of what this man did here. It's one of the most extraordinary events in the history of the creative arts.

It's not until you actually study music theory that you recognize the true genius of this movement!! While in Ternary form the A section is in complete Sonata form, with the opening theme being a fugue! Also, the second theme of the exposition is not in the typical relative major, or dominant, it's in C Major (the dominant of the relative major). Not to mention how the first beat every 3 measures is accented in a way to somewhat sound like it is in common time time, but the timpani solo and following measure is kind of like Beethoven laughing at those wanting to try and make that claim. Then there's that BEAUTIFUL Trio which actually does switch to common time, but does so seamlessly!! And the way Beethoven orchestrates this pieces is brilliant!! I particularly love the Bassoon and Horn parts, and he incorporates the Trombones in the trio so... Gorgeously!!! In my opinion this is the most brilliant piece of music ever written!!

This is my most-watched video, in the my history of YouTube. I come back to this over and over again, and I have never in my life seen something as amazing as this.

Easily my favorite classical pieces. It really highlights the underdogs of the orchestra; bassoon, oboe, french horn, and timpani. I'm a percussionist so I love the timpani solos, but I love how the other instruments that people don't really think about play such a vital role in one hell of an amazing piece. Musical Genius.

I just wish Beethoven knew that me, a guy in 2022, is listening to this, with tears in his eyes, feeling a huge amount of emotions (joy, courage, fear, surprise, and many others).

Of all of Beethoven's amazing work, this is by far my favorite. With all of the ebb and flow and the intertwining of the various instruments, the joy and immeasurable intricacies, the master pulled together all the emotion of life into just a few minutes of sweet music.

Beethoven having decided to not let his disability bother him after the initial self isolation and depression.. and even thoughts of self harm. The decision to continue ANYWAY and still have his work be so popular this long after he's been gone. Brings a tear to my eye every time I hear such a masterpiece.

Most definitely my favourite movement. Inspite everyone say the 4th is the best, this one is utterly underrated! God save Beethoven!

"Oh it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal, or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now." ....movie please.

This...the 2nd movement of the 7th and the 3rd and 4th movements of the 5th are my favorite movements of Beethoven symphonies. Whenever I hear this movement, I cannot help but think of A Clockwork Orange.

It is said that at the premiere the violinists were crying because of the beauty of this music

Ok, I just figured out why this is my favorite version so far. This is a different arrangement where the horns get a lot more protagonism than in the original version.
For example, at 0:51, in the original version only the woodwinds played the main melody, while in this arrangement the horns also play it, and LOUD! :D

Barenboim has worked wonders with these kids. This is, hands down, the best rendition I have ever heard, bar none. Just superior,  Barenboim. Nice work, BBM.
