Noi Italiani abbiamo prodotto grandi artisti, grandi poeti e filosofi. E grandi musicisti. Ma un Beethoven non lo abbiamo. È una grave lacuna. Insieme a un Balzac

Ludwig van is the greatest artist to walk this earth bar none. No one can come close to his art. If you tap in to Ludwig van, you will never be unhappy, lonely, hopeless, bored, interstless, ungodly, unholy, unfaithful, unbeliever...Ludwig van is a gift from the Lord and oh how thankful we all are

Not only was Beethoven profoundly deaf when he composed this masterpiece but - even worse - he suffered from the infuriating noises that accompany severe tinnitus. The deafness was not silent. A superhuman achievement.

Karajan is for me, the only person capable of bringing Mozart and Beethoven back to life, always the right tempo for the most prolific director of all times.

There are incredible painters, sculptors, thinkers etc; but what Beethoven created here, with no hearing aid, is the greatest piece of art in human history...

Imagine being a middle aged madman with streaks of white in your hair, conducting passionately and madly probably the greatest piece of music ever written.

Herbert von Karajan, immense, immeasurable, unassailable, unattainable, unreachable...the true and unique expression, body, heart, soul, essence, of Ludwig van Beethoven.

I think that just like a blind person with heightened sensory perception, Beethoven's deafness increased his awareness of the vibration created by the score and made him more sensitive to nuances which ordinary folk have no need to detect. Add this to his remarkable ability and this is what you get. The voice of God channeled through this man.

Beethoven, Berliner Philharmoniker and Herbert von Karajan. Heaven on earth. I'll be forever thankful for growing up in West-Berlin and being able to attend this orchestra and the Maestro so many times I cannot even count them

It is amazing that Beethoven wrote the 9th symphony when he was completely deaf. It is simply divine... No other can surpass this masterpiece of all time...

I was in high school when I purchased this on cassette - there is no way to describe how I felt hearing Beethoven this way. I hope when I die this is playing in my head...thank you Beethoven!!!

Considering LVB was stone deaf when he first performed this symphony is astounding ! His # 1 violinist had to turn him around on his podium to see the audiences immense approval .

Herbert von Karajan ist ein Mensch der Musik fühlt, daher (und nur wg. seiner Herkunft) so unendlich korrekt ist. Totale Akuratnis zwingt Ihn dazu...
Also das macht es so Wunderfully. 🤓
