People don't talk about this enough, the ending is actually the best part, a fast Coda, ending with just 5 short notes, end of story, no dragging, it's Beethoven's equivalent of a mic-drop, as if saying :"I've said all there is to say, this is it."

The finale gets all the press, and deservedly so, but I think the first movement might be even better. Incredible drama and power from beginning to end.

I'm still astonished at this symphony.
It was completed in 1824.
It's scope, it's vision for the audience at that time must have been scary.
It's a monolith of composition. And tbh it set the scene for next 100 years of music.

Musical history. String, brass, woodwind and percussion made so much affection and power! And the choir in 4th movement is human shining moment.
