Last year I was walking down the street, going to university when a pitbull like him runned towards me without his owner. At first my heard shrunk but when he came closer I saw he is just lost and wanted to find his home. A car almost hit him so I catched him and took him to a safer place. He was really strong so it has hard to hold him but he was also very very sweet. I succeed to find his owner, we found out that the doggo escaped from the garden so I brought him back. A week later I met him and his owner on the street, he immediatelly noticed me, started running towards me, layed down on his back and wanted belly rub. I was so happy that he recognized me, he is such a good boi.

Worst thing my pit ever did was knock me off the bed while trying to aggressively snuggle to hide from a storm

I use a wheelchair, and the dogs that are the nicest to me tend to be big dogs that other people might find scary: German Shepherds, Rottweilers, etc. They seem to understand that something is different about me and/or my legs and they get protective of me. I distinctly remember wheeling around my local dog park (it was wonderful exercise and I got to make four-legged friends on my breaks!) pre-pandemic, where a pair of rottweilers decided I was their new best friend. They walked alongside me as I wheeled around the entire walking trail. When dogs who didn't like/didn't understand wheelchairs would bark at me, they would bark back and get between me and the other dogs. My sister's German Shepherd mix, Louis, notices when my sister's other doggies ( a lab mix, Dana and what we think is a pit bull mix, Rosie) start playing too rough and jumping on me. Sometimes I get on the floor to play, sitting with my legs straight out in front of me. if they're being too rough, Louis will stand over my legs, blocking them from jumping on me. No growling, no barking. Just firmly standing his ground. He's so gentle and sweet!

I had a friend with three fairly large pitbulls. He once warned me not to pet a specific one, to which I responded, " I'm not afraid of him". I made the "Mistake" of petting him, and from that moment on the dog would practically bowl me over asking for pets every time I visited. My friend laughed and said " I told you not to pet him" lol.

I have a pittie and the most violent thing he’s ever done is accidentally whip me in the face with his tail cause he was so excited-

Pitbull faces are so expressive. They always seem kinda worried or concerned, and it's kinda cute.

We rescued a blue fawn American Bully last year. Most affectionate dog I've ever owned. And, the "full-body wag".

Sadly, this breed is often favored by the very type of people that should never own animals, and they are abused, poorly trained, and owned only as ornaments of a certain lifestyle.
Slowly, the breed is becoming more appreciated by owners who properly train and care for them, which is of course a great thing to help mitigate the stigma.

My cousin has a pittie. The most aggressive thing he did was:
He once accidentally threw a piece of his food into the bowl of water and he barked at it for 5 minutes because he didn’t know how did it appear there xD

These are not for 90% of dog owners... ownership of them should be regulated

Their ears are so adorable when they aren’t cropped

When I was in college, I was the victim of a horrible pit bull attack. I still remember it to this day.

I was walking down the sidewalk one time when I encountered a man working on a little sign outside his shop. He had his pitbull with him - a solid brick house of a dog. When I got close, the pittie started wagging her tail and getting excited. If only I'd paid a little more attention.

The owner even warned me, too. He noticed me coming, noticed his dog's reaction. He told me, "Careful, she's a kisser".

But too little, too late. By the time I'd registered the statement, the pittie had bounced up and licked my face. Truly traumatizing.

In all seriousness, I love pitties. The one I met above was a sweetie. I went back several times after that to dote on her.

I've only owned one pit bull in my life, bur she was by far the sweetest dog I've ever had the pleasure of welcoming into my family. She absolutely loved cuddling and was wonderful with my niece and nephew as they grew up. Sadly lost her to cancer last year and I still miss her terribly.

My first dog when I was little was pit bull. I've loved them my whole life. At the moment, I have a pit mix that is an absolute diva on bath day. She's also terrified of robins, squirrels, and dragonflies. I rely on the cats to guard the home.

I'm a dog walker, and pit bulls are my FAVORITE breed to walk. They're always the sweetest things, and one saved my life when i fell while on the job and got a concussion. I wandered around, totally blanked out, for nearly 40 minutes, a block away from a busy highway. This sweet boy kept me on the sidewalk, out of danger, until i "woke up" with no memory of that day. Scariest moment of my life. He sat on my feet, giving me kisses and making sure i was safe, until someone came to take me to the hospital. Pitties are so sweet, just like any other dog breed, but there's something special about them. If i survive my blue heeler mix puppy, i will definitely be getting a pittie someday.

There are no bad dog breeds, just bad owners. But toy breeds do make me question that occasionally 👀
Jk, it's the bad owners there too

“This is why we don’t like pit bulls, we love them!” Is the single comment that caused me to subscribe! Pit bulls are very protective, often mistaken by being aggressive!

They are wiggly! 😂

The very first foster puppy that I had was a blue pit, and he was scrumptious. In his new home he is Elvis, is highly offended by going out to do his "bidness" in the rain, and is living the best life.
