as long as youre happy with what you made thats fine but an alternative method is to add 2 tablespoons of oil to pan fry onions and garlic and and minced chicken or beef when brown add carrots and maybe some peas or some diced potatoes and some red pepper (fresh)
stir for about 5mins or less then make ur dough just flour with a pinch of salt and 2 sticks of butter to like 2 bowls of flour and add 2-3eggs and cut out circles after rolling that dough out and put the sause or meat into the circle and fold it in half use the edge of a fork or ur finger to pinch the edges and you can fry it or bake till brown

thats a meat pie but i guess you can use steak instead if u want

It does look amazing but the fact you've got about as much onion as steak in there just ruins it
