I love both of those pairs of boots. Like to see them after they are broken in.

Thanks for the video!! Those Truman boots are beautifully finished!! I did not know Trueman yet, as I have been eyeing Nick‘s for some time now. Biut I will have to look into them, as they look great. I‘ll probably start with a pair of Americanas.

I have two pair of Nick's boots and I think they are excellent. I've thought about getting a pair of Truman's boots but Nick's just seem a bit more sturdy and I think I would prefer the snugger fit of the Nick's. If I get another pair of boots, regardless of manufacturer, it will be in a style similar to these boots with the waxed flesh uppers and the lug soles. Thank you for your video and the side-by-side comparison. Well done!

Truman doesn’t get nearly enough credit. I have many pairs. 👍

I have the same pair of nicks except mine are falcons with the same leather I put just a drop of obenouffs lp grease on my finger and rub it in and it makes the lighter brown undertoned leather darker and it hides it it works very well

I have 3 pairs of Truman's. In 9EE. The toe box has a smidge of wiggle room on the sides of my toes. I have 2 pairs of Nicks ordered in 9E with a Thurnan last on each. One pair is going to take a while and it's on the Thurnan55 last. The other one is on the ThurmanNW last and is a quick ship. I'm worried i should've went with the 9EE since you said it's a firmer handshake feeling with Nicks.

I purchased the Truman java waxed flesh in seconds recently that has a small cut 1 inch in the waxed flesh. I can't see the cut with the naked eye and saved $175.The boots are a little dry and I used a little venetian cream on them. My truman boots have some dried spots like your Nicks. One thing I noticed is that the Truman's are a little short that I don't have much space in the length. If I buy another pair I'm going to size-up 1/2 size from my redwing size because the instep in the truman's is very tight. I lucked on buying the java wax because chromexcel stretches and doubtful I could have broken in Wickett & Craig Latigo Veg-tan.

I have a pair of Nick's for work and want an Iron Ranger type boot (without buying a Red Wing Iron Ranger) and found Truman. They're not in stock in my size (11) and just missing small details like hardware, kilties and a pull tab. Sure I can order a MTO Americana but then have to tolerate a 6-8 month wait, but seeing as I've been watching/waiting and signed up for emails for Truman only to visit the site a day or two later only to find they're out of stock again.

Not gonna lie, the Trumans look nice and that welt is beautiful but they really need to include kilties as an option.

surprised to hear what you said about sizing. I tried Nicks in my Truman size and it felt a half size bigger. Probably going to go with a C width in the same length

Crazy how much nicer the Truman's look compared to Nick's. The leather quality. The stitching, the cuts of leather. It's just such a nicer looking boot.

Brown Wax Flesh is a hit! Both Nicks and Truman are great PNW companies. These are boots that should last for decades.

So did you end up returning/selling them?

Great video. I am a Nicks & Franks guy but you sold me on a pair of Trumans. The Trumans, for lack of a better word, look more casual.
