That's a really nice shirt, man. Mind if I ask what brand it is?

I absolutely lovey Grant Stone Diesels. The variety of leather they offer in this boot is great too. I have the Jungle (olive green) kangaroo. I wear them all the time.

@bootspy You've got the Viberg 2030 and 310 mixed up. You have the Viberg 310 last not the 2030.

Now that I have moved into the MTO space from Indonesian makers, I just can't see myself getting any of these. Maybe a pair of grant stones in a cool leather at some point. But with someone like Midas Bootmaker, you can get hand welted and lasted boots with IMPECCABLE attention to detail for well under 500 USD. If you go with local Indonesian leather they come out cheaper than GS.

All that being said though, I still want a pair of Whites MP Sherman's lol

I don’t know about you excluding the MP. A lot of folks seem to love those and Whites are built like tanks. Nicks and Vibergs are great, but they seem to be trendy amongst the Thursday night boot wearing pub crawl folks.

Just bought a Thursday Captain Tobacco (Stormking outsole)

I agree with your assessments. Nice video for an overview. Just one question though.... would Jocko wear a service boot?

Great video and great picks. Just one piece of info you might want to double check. Your Viberg appears to be the 2040 last, not the 2030.

I’m looking to make a change from my iron rangers. Looking at both the grant stones and Truman. Are the grant stone boots casual enough to wear with a T-shirt or flannel and jeans? They look great, and I like the price but not sure if they may lean too much towards more dressy.

Nice list, I have the nicks I have the grantstone I have the Wolverine 1000 miles I have the red wing iron Rangers I Have whites And I find myself always wearing the 1000 miles and iron Rangers more than any other boots that I own, I can't believe the Wolverine 1000 miles didn't make the list those are way by far better than Thursday boots I mean Thursday boots look nice but they don't have that rugged heritage look, 1000 miles are the boots that I get the most compliments.

Bootspy, have you worn or tried the Allen Edmonds Higgins Mill? It's one of my super comfortable boots and looks great.

The Dowler is a steal for the price. I've been rocking a pair in Oak for 4-5 years now. My newest edition is the Truman Cattail Grizzly. I've had them for a couple months and they're arguably the best pair of footwear in general that I've ever owned. Really great boots.

Which lasts are very close or the same as the iron rangers in this list? I finally got to try the iron ranger yesterday and the 8.5 US is perfect. Holds the heel well, doesn't have a high instep, plenty of width and toe space despite sizing down 1 full size from brannock. Very different to the moc. The 9 US is also great but I prefer slightly more snug fit out of the box.

I've got a pair of Taylor Stitch trench boots and no one ever seems to have them on their boot lists...is it because they are probably overpriced for what you get? I like them but I also dont have any iron rangers or any other boots with real leather insoles lol. Just curious :)

Wow! Those Grant Stones are nice! Thanks for breaking it down. I'm a service boot and moc-toe nut! You keep doing your thing, buddy. I enjoy your content even though the Mrs. probably doesn't want me to keep feeding my addiction. Grant Stones may be my next purchase. I just need to find a way to convince her. HEHEHE You can't see, but I'm twirling my mustache handlebars.

I have a pair of Captains. They're alright at best. Ive worn them maybe 75 times in 2.5 yrs. Getting ready for a date the other night and the speed hooks popped off the boot. Contacted Thursday Boot company to try to get them repaired... Nothing... Crickets. So I hit up their facebook page and they freaking blocked me. Guys spend your $200 with a company who will stand behind their products and back them up. These influencers act like $200 for boots is inexpensive. Guy's, I had to bust my ass and save to buy these boots and this company wont even entertain a conversation about repairing a well kept, very lightly used pair of boots bought from them. I was proud to own them. Now I'm embarrassed to say they took my hard earned $$. I would've gotten better wear from a $50 boot on amazon and recieved the same bad customer service

I like to keep it simple. Allen Edmonds or thousand mile wolverine with their horween leather. Everything else is for enthusiast which I respect
