Actually, vader usually resorts to use the force first since, at first, he might not treat Magneto as a major threat, and he only whips out the lightsaber when he goes against a worthy opponent, but Magneto still probably has the upperhand

Edit: I forgot to mention, most sith can use Force Crush. Basically, a fight with Magneto would end in Magneto looking like if a cartoon character got crushed by an anvil lol

Darth Vader, while Magneto could crush his suit, Vader would just feel the force, just go "No" and use the force to uncrush the armour, it's kinda like "Who can shoot the other first, But darth vader has 50 more guns"

Magneto's power is to control magnetic fields thats how he controls metal Vader suits nor his cybernetic limbs are magnetic. But the thing that clamps his limbs to his arms are magnetic so he would be able to literally disarm him.

Earth 616 Magneto casually defended himself agingst attacks from the Enigma Force and Phoenix Force. Two beings that are far beyond Abeloth and Legends Luke Skywalker. So Vader couldn't even damage Magneto with the force or a lightsaber. The Marvel cosmology is just so much bigger, Star Wars isn't comparable.

I would like to add, as Magneto says in Xmen 97, electricity/energy and magnetism have a bond, i feel like Magneto would know Vaders whole thing before they even saw eachother, and Magneto is actually fuckin broken, and he commonly faces much, much greater telekinetic users such as Jean Grey on the daily, all im saying is the marvel universe is on a whole different scale than Star Wars, and if Magneto can survive, hell, thrive, hell, take over the world and be the top of the food chain quite often in a world full of super geniuses, gods, powerful telekinetic enemies, and beings of power beyond comprehension, i think he would do just fine with Vader, like aslong as people arent bringing in the lore vader and shit, the movies Vader would get crushed before he could make his first thought, Magneto is simply on another scale, and how i see it is magneto realises Vader is mostly robot, and just shuts his brain down, killing him immediately

I disagree, while Vader does have faster reaction times he very rarely kills instantly with the force (I don’t know if he has ever done that in canon) and magneto would just switch of his systems immediately, he could do that while being force choked or whatever.

Darth Vader is telepathic too. His force sense is also like a pre-cognitive 'spider sense'. Vader has too much for Magneto to overcome.
