Scott’s videos are the main reason my father converted to Catholicism prior to his death. Scott is a true blessing to our faith!

0:11 - - original sin is *privation* - - it is being *deprived* of what our first parents had - but then forfeited.
0:40 - - original sin isn’t an inheritance of guilt - - it is a *disinheritance of Divine Life* (the supernatural Life of the Trinity)
0:46 - - our first parents do not transmit their guilt + depravity - - they transmit their *privation* (their absence of what they once had; a supernatural void; they had it - but LOST it; we are born with human life devoid of Divine Life - - we are disinherited, dispossessed).

Jesus came to SAVE what was LOST. 🔥🕊
This is why He taught that we must be born again (reborn) - - not of the flesh - - but of water 💧 and the Spirit 🕊

Regarding trying to put ourselves right in our own strength, Jeremiah chapter 17 verses 5 and 7 tells us:
(5) ‘The Lord says this, “Cursed is the man who puts his hope in the strength of man, in the strength of the flesh, whose heart departs from the Lord.”
(7) “Blessed is the man who turns to Me and whose hope is Me.”’

I say, “You are gods,
sons of the Most High, all of you;
nevertheless, you shall die like men,
and fall like any prince.”
(Psalm 82: 6-7)

Perfect summary: We are born with the consequence of sin, which is death, but not with sin itself.

It's like being exiled and an exiled family begets exiled descendants until redeemed back.

❤❤❤❤ I liked the way Scott explained “Original Sin” as inheritance of guilt and disinheritance of Divine life. God bless!

Adam and Eve did not believe what God had spoken to them. Mary is blessed because she did believe what God had spoken to her. Divine life lost; Divine life restored in reconciliation. Thank you Scott!

just because the stores sell it,
doesn't mean you have to buy.
temptation, mistakes, could change your world.

Let's not forget that it was Augustine who first taught that original sin involved inherited guilt (based on a mistranslation from the Greek into Latin of Romans 5:12), so it was the Reformers who derived the doctrine from one of _our_ saints.

David doesn’t say he was born lacking divine life. He doesn’t say anything remotely like it. He said in sin my MOTHER conceived me.

I watched this yesterday on my laptop and found it very useful. I wondered if an analogy would be like having a computer which works satisfactorily by itself without connection to the internet, but you can transform the computer by a free wi-fi connection but you have to sign up (baptism). Does this work as an analogy?

The emphasis is “one man”. The man seated in the temple/house/lawmakers as god.

Eden speaks of the sin of that “one man” over everyone under his law or constitution which shall bring death(by law) to all.

Jesus, a type of Adam, addressed the sin of “one anointed man” depicted in the desert’s temptation.

Mat 4:5 Then the Devil took Him up into the holy city and set Him upon a pinnacle of the Temple.
Mat 4:7 Jesus said to him, It is written again, "You shall not tempt the Lord(the One Man) your God."

How to get out of the “one man sin” on all? Christian theology has misled and deceived the world, and nations, and driven everyone deeper into Sin. Christianity is a lost cause and does not know Christ “in the flesh”.

1Jn 4:3 and every spirit(of prophecy) that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come (in the flesh) is not of God. And this is the antichrist you heard is coming, and even now is already in the world.

In the temptation of the “anointed one”(One Man) there are three you need to take down.
1) source of power
2)seat of power
3)means of power

To consume this power, you(nations) shall pay the price of death, eventually

Gen 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.

Rom 1:22 Professing to be wise, they became fools

So if divine life was not transmitted to us then Adams fallen nature was transmitted to us. What's the difference. In sin I was conceived is evident that Adams sinful nature was transmitted to me

How does Romans 5 at all support the idea of original sin when Paul clearly writes that death has spread to all “because all sinned.” Thus, death spreads to us when we sin. That’s the opposite of the idea inheriting death by being progeny of Adam.
“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭12‬ ‭LSB‬‬
