Who would win in a staring contest, you or Jack Reacher?

I'm really impressed with how he remembers all his lines.

The fact he pays for the coffee and pie before getting arrested shows his character

What upset most was that he had that peach pie so close to his mouth and then didn't take a bite. C'mon, nobody is that tough.

That is badass, he just stares the guy down without saying a word. Reacher understands human psychology very well.

It can't be just me who thinks Alan Ritchson could portray Blazkowicz perfectly if they ever made a Wolfenstein series or movie! Looks and acts just like him.

I like this introduction to his character. He's quiet but intimidating. He's also an absolute tank, and gives off an air that police with their guns would still lose to him, but doesn't get violent when there are innocents involved.

This opening scene is just so perfect. From the stare down with the twit outside that backs off from a guy that looks like he could break him in half but never says a word, to the ever so subtle way he interprets the police showing up, reviewing who else is in the diner, and realizing he's the most likely target, to the look on his face when he realizes it, is perfect.

I love that everything you need to know about him is set up without any dialogue. He's intimidating but has a sense of justice as he stares down that lady's boyfriend. Very clearly doesn't want to be arrested but already decides that he's gonna let them arrest him when he notices innocent civilians are present. A very impressive case of “show don't tell”

Jack Reacher is the embodiment of how we wish we could react to the injustices we see around us each day. In reality getting involved directly or physically will land us in a heap of trouble or even make the situation worse for the person we’re trying to help, but Jack has the fantasy aspect of not having to worry about that.

He’s the modern day cowboy/man with no name, blowing into town and righting wrongs we day dream about fixing before disappearing with the setting sun.

What a journey Alan has had, from Smallville to a kickstarter-funded Rooster Teeth movie to some small movie roles - it's so great to see him finally have a lead in a major series that fits him so perfectly.

This is a stunning introduction to a character. It tells us so much about him, without him speaking a word.

After watching the first season without stopping... I can safely say they picked the very best person to portray Reacher. A great intro for both Reacher AND Roscoe.

Love how he evaluated the diner to try to find who the cops are pulling up for, and the immediate realization that it's him

"Cuffs didn't fit him" is something that could never be said about Tom Cruise.

Even Jack understands you don't say anything to the cops. You speak to a lawyer and the lawyer will speak to the cops.

I love his and roscoes first interaction. How she could see past the "scary" outer shell and is also brazen enough to challenge him. Probably helps that she made him laugh too.

As someone who read all the books I can say that Ritchson perfectly captures Reachers intelligence & brutal physicality. His face is what I pictured reading the books, his state and his intelligence. Cruise did well in his version but Ritchson absolutely nails him. I loved the series so far and I hope that Amazon comission a load more series because some of the books would be perfect for an adaptation, one book per series.

The fact that Cruise, despite his size, could be so intimidating, is a testament to his acting skills.

This man, on the other hand, definitely strikes me as a former marine, and has an approachable look about him; he fits the Reacher appearance better, and now I will likely watch this when I can.
