If you really need Shale, go to the Sea Treaders... and swim around their feet... see what happens.

The best PRAWN suit setup is grappling arm AND drill arm. Use the grappling arm to rappel up walls and hills, I recommend practicing this on the steep tall hills in the Grassy Plateau's biome (Biome nearby with red grass).

Being skilled at "Tarzan" swings will often make the difference in easily surviving versus dying often due to blundering through certain parts of the game.

A key PRAWN tip is to remember that while under water, you can hold down the retract button on the grappling hook to keep it still while attached to a wall to allow the PRAWN thrusters to recharge. Just think like Tarzan but jumpjets with a with a re-charge meter before the next swing.

It's just my two cents, but I feel your situation still needs to find some more missing technologies at some undiscovered wrecks further away. You're missing some thermal technologies that is going to make life a lot easier in the Lost River Biome.

1. Get all PRAWN updates that do not require nickel ore or Sulfur.

2. You need to do some exploring in the Blood Kelp Forest near the floating underwater islands where you were at. They should be northwest of that location. You are missing a key undiscovered resource there that will allow you to make Poly.

3. At least keep searching farther out for wrecks until you find the Cyclops Thermal reactor re-charger and PRAWN Thermal reactor re-charger. I would say keep going until you find the "Stillsuit", but that's more of a preference.

Stillsuit allows you to reclaim some of your body moisture in a filtered manner that you can drink for hydration at the expense of consuming some of your food level. It's very useful until you get in the hot biome locations, then you don't want to be using it there because you could die fast since it offers no thermal protection like the reinforced dive suit does.

4. Plan a budget for a substantial added compact base in the Lost River location near a Thermal vent for Thermal power (its the best kind of power). Moonpool, 2 multipurpose rooms (recommend vertically), 2 water purification stations, 3 to 4 thermal power generators, scanner room.

Build the HUD chip for easier farming. Especially for Copper and Lythium.

Suggest drill arm, grappling arm, depth module mk2 or 3, thrusters, and thermal recharge (you will need it...lots of prawn suit walking in hot area)

Nickel ore can only be acquired via PRAWN drill arm. It occurs in large deposits only.
