What if the Aurora Landed in the Void?

Today, I'll be attempting to answer a question I've seen you guys ask in the comments many times and that is: What if the Aurora landed in the void? I'll be using data available in the game as well as a fair bit of my own speculation to try to get as close to an answer as possible!

Thank you for watching, come back again!

Ok, something SUPER important I didn't explain well in the vid - in this "theory", I'm assuming the Aurora crashes relatively close off the edge of the void and thus, most of the lifepods would still land relatively close to their current positions. The main reason for this is that if the ship lands far out, I'm pretty sure it's just game-over for everyone :)

According to the lore the void takes up most of the planet so statistically speaking we were incredibly lucky

Nothing would really happen. The Aurora would just sink a few thousand meters and then get teleported back to the top :)

Imagine the Aurora explodes and you just see a Leviathan go into orbit.

There’s actually some audio dialog that exists if you turn off the gun before the sunbeam arrives, it won’t shoot the sunbeam but they can’t land due to the planet being surrounded in debris

Imagine if the aurora landed on the edge of the void and you had a time limit to get everything and go before it would fall

Oh boy, the ghosties will be eating well tonight.

Shortly said, if the Aurora landed in the void, we're fucked.

It would be really cool if the PDA realized that the Aurora landed in the void and allows you to build a long range transmitter on land or something. Or maybe you'd have to find fragments of the old Aurora transmitter

... I would still try to get to the Aurora.. NO ONE IS KEEPING ME FROM MY "KEEP CALM" KITTY POSTER!

But yet forgetting a key problem: Adult void leviathans

I feel like the major thing that was left out here is the fact that the Aurora contains the blueprints for the Prawn suit, which is vital for very deep sea exploration.

If the Aurora fell into the Abyss it's highly likely that it's radio signals may incur interference or worse sustain crushing damage from the extreme pressures and cease to function, preventing any sustained distress signal or live trackable location meaning the sunbeam would never even know the Aurora was there on top of that Alterra may never find it and subsequently 4546-B. Something to think about I guess.

If going into the void to get to the Aurora, imagine encountering other giant monsters besides Ghost Leviathans.

The Aurora would've been d o o m e d even more than it already was

Hoping Subnautica 3 (if it does happen) has much more to do with the void. Really cool ideas including Soundwaves. Bigger horror aspect would be awesome!

You mentioned that most of the important blueprints can be obtained without entering the aurora. But if the aurora lands in the void instead, the debris wouldn't have been flung as it was, and it's likely the debris (and blue prints) would be resting closer to the aurora at the bottom of the void

Alterra: "We've sent blueprints for an Escape Rocket to the ship's main computer."
Ryley: *looks at the Void*
Ryley: *turns seamoth around* "Guess I'll die."

Imagine having this as some sort of hardmode:
- There would be significantly less fragments scattered around (since the Aurora wouldn't loose as much stuff in the crater when just passing over it instead of crashing directly into it. Plus at least lore-wise it's said that the explosion broke off even more fragments off the ship)
- Instead of having the crash zone, we would have another biome....Maybe going with the theory that before the crash at this place there was the initial "home biome" of the reapers. Or how about going with the theory of there being a direct tunnel to the lava zone that the dragons used to lure reapers down (so occasionally you would have 1-2 sea dragons strolling around rather close to the safe shallows)
- Your endgoal after curing the virus would be to go out into the void and locate the Aurora so you can get the blueprints for the rocket.Of course, to make exploring the void more interesting (and more possible), there would be a hugh part of the void where you wouldn't just get chased down by ever respawning ghosts. Though instead you would find a few more biomes there with even bigger leviathans the deeper you get. Those void-biomes would still be almost empty ressource-wise, but there would be more Aurora fragments the closer you get to it. So you could get food and materials from those (maybe even a few new tools/ vehicles to stand a better chance against the new threads)

I feel like if the main character was committed enough he could eventually reach where he needs to be in the deep zone with a combo of airpumps, supplies, stasis riffle, and flares, or other distracting sorts, given enough time and patience I believe it'd be possible to make it to the ship, but incredibly deadly
