Hi all - this is my first upload in 2 years! For those that didn't know, I wasn't able to sing for a long time as I permanently lost some of the functionality in my voice. It took me two years but I re-taught myself how to sing using the registers I had left to me. My 'new voice' is quite unstable (like a babe in the woods!) and I never know what I'll be waking up to, but I needed to get working on songs again or I was just going to wither away. Bear with me while I get back into the groove.

Alice in Wonderland has always been close to my heart and a source of comfort in some really dark times. I've decided Alice is what my next album will consist of - and this is the first song on it!

I hope you enjoy the video portion! My husband Kevin actually did all the filming! I am pretty impressed! I storyboarded the video and then he followed me around for a few days in the woods getting these shots. I made all of the Alice dresses from a Japanese pattern I found in a magazine. They took a loooong time but I am pretty good at sewing now...

Special thanks to my body double, Katie, for helping with the shots where I needed two Alices and also for helping a ton with the fight scene.

Also special thanks to my friend Jillian Aversa for not only showing me kindness and filling me with hope, but also for allowing me to be part of two of her professional video shoots earlier this year. I learned a lot from the experience and I just love her SO MUCH!
Please check out our two collabs here!

And thanks to YOU GUYS for still being here? Not being able to be Erutan for you for two years almost killed me. Leave a comment for me if you can, and see you guys next video!

She's not only taught herself to sing again, she's turned this fun story into a story of confronting your own inner demons without losing the fantasy that makes it accessible and acceptable!

This song is so beautiful and does honor to the original Tale. I love Alice in Wonderland and this poem. I really appriciate how it was represented in this adaptation here. It's like fighting against it's own demons to grow up, but without losing some childhood innocence and fantasy. Amazing <3
You did amazing, Erutan, thank you for it.

Just when everyone thought she would never be able to do what she loved again... She slew the Jabberwocky.

Six impossible things before breakfast:

1) There's a potion that can make you shrink.
2) And a cake that can make you grow.
3) Animals can talk.
4) Cats can disappear.
5) There is a place called Wonderland.
6) I can slay the Jabberwocky!

I have missed you and your magical music so much. For what it’s worth, you’ve always been my biggest inspiration ever since I discovered your music years and years ago. I would never be where I am on YouTube without your influence. Thank you so much for coming back to us with this beautiful piece! I admire you so much for overcoming your struggles and working so hard to find your voice again. I can’t imagine how hard it has been for you but this just proves how strong and talented you are! Also, this cinematography is so amazing! 💕

I'm actually crying watching this.

I found you back around 2012 and was able to purchase a physical copy of Raindancer. I still have part of the packaging you sent it in because your handwriting/drawing is so beautiful (it's addressed to my mom, cause back then I used her PayPal 😂). Once at a friend's party I connected my iPod to the speaker system and blared your music. Back in high school I had a symposium where people showed their favorite genres; mine was Bardic tales and I made a power point about you.

The updates about your voice on Facebook always made me feel so sad that you might not be able to do something you loved so much ever again. Finding your instrumental channel helped, but I would always think "no one has a voice like Kate..." This video is such a boon, and I plus many other people will gladly stay for the ride of you discovering your voice again!

As a lifelong musician of 30 years, this is musical genius, masterwork quality....It doesn't get much better than this. Enjoy everyone!

Kate, you are forever one of the most inspiring people I know. I'm so happy and thrilled to hear you sing again! You had to overcome so much, but the result now is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your music with us again! (The visuals look fantastic, as well!)

I used to listen your songs back in middle-school, now I'm in college. It's feel really nostalgic to listening to this again.

I've always adored the nonsensical rhythm of the Jabberwocky poem and I love it even more in song, this is beautiful
