Teaching strategies: empathy in education

If you ever wonder, why the language education has been ineffective on some occasions, the answer is the lack of empathy in our system which is reflected inside the classrooms. In this plein session we are going to see the meaning of empathy and its importance in language education.

This is such an interest webinar. I don't remember ever having to be taught empathy as a child while in school though and that was many many years ago. However, I'm curious what researchers who made the chart at the 12:30 mark would say to another possible contribution to the decline in empathy in children from the 1980's to 2011 could also be contributed to the breaking up of the family and possible lack of a parent at home being there to guide children's emotions as well. I can definitely see the other points they made to be contributing factors. But it seems the family is the primary emotional caretaker of children.
