I don't know if it's something you might be interested in doing, but for us newbies starting out and trying this new tools, something I'd appreciate is a more indepth list of what to and not to block with simplewall, for example.

This doesn't seemed discussed often but the WFP is a lower level system on windows for managing network traffic. SimpleWall and Windows Firewall both use it. Since they both use the same thing it seems like it could be a compatibility issue, but WFP being lower in the system means that whether you use SimpleWall or Windows Firewall it will be just as safe as long as your rules are properly managed.

I really liked the configuration options, especially the telemetry and it is much lighter on the system than the zonaalarm I was using. I'm really liking the behavior and the firewall itself.

Great videos.... Verifying file integrity/ checking sha 256 exact steps would be HUGE!!! Nobody else has done a clear video on it....windows maybe via Cleopatra gnu etc

Is it possible that some (malicious) program can add itself to the whitelist (using WFP) and gain access to the network?

If you disable lsass, some video games won't allow you to connect online, for example Rocket League. I don't know why that happens, but it does, so you should probably leave it enabled if you play games

Most programs have green highlights, but some (like discord) have purple highlights in simplewall. Know what the colors represent?

I have this strange issue, but I haven't found other people online with the same problem. Basically even after I grant access to a certain applications (especially background windows and update stuff) it will still keep prompting me with access requests the next time it tries to connect or phone home... Anyone else with this issue? Any way to solve it for good?

The one thing about blocking software for me is, If I want to uninstall eg ''SimplWall'' or any other blocking software,
will windows return automatically to normal after the uninstall, or will ALL settings made by the user remain in place

Begs the question, why does msmpgeng need internet access if you could potentially run your Windows PC without any internet available? I wish we could a more well-defined explanation as to when it exactly does and doesn't need internet access.

There surely are some offline implementations...

Awesome tool but very poor info over the internet. Windows has some process which pops up every time on screen, would be nice to know how to set rules for them. Any sort of help would be nice.

“never turn off windows updates, otherwise your computer will get infected” - hahaha, after this phrase everyone can close the video. There's no point in updating. This only slow down your system. For 15 years my computer has not been infected with anything. I never update anything I don't really need. And my system works very fast and stable.
