Good, it's an HP so it sucks. I've had four in a year, one with bad SATA that won't take a SATA card, another that just didn't work, third that died in 10 minutes, and the fourth tripped the breaker for my room.

I have this PC. I bought it in the year 2006 end. It had Windows Vista installed in it but later I upgraded it to windows 7. I still use it sometimes. I just can't sell to anyone, it's very precious to me since it is my very first pc. :')

That would be kinda useful for me - having SATA and IDE (plus a floppy controller!) on board would make it a great test-bench machine. Also noticed it had a PCIe slot on it, quite a feature-rich board really for an "average" HP box.

Hi Tom, Nice job on this video! I personally love this style of videos where you are taking a look at an older PC/Mac. Just a quick comment if you are interested you could do what I did with an old PC which is to mount all the components to a wooden board and wall mount the PC. I use mine as a basic Minecraft server for friends, a print server and a security cam server using the likes of Yawcam. It looks really cool wall mounted and would make an interesting video! Keep up the great content!

8-)
I'm the same, just hate to throw away a working PC, I can think of a few uses for the major components but don't want to invest any time or money on them !
Get rid of it so you can move on, there are far more worthy projects to spend your time and money on.

You have to remove the metal piece on the front, then you can simply pull the hard drive out of the front by holding up the green thing which is locking the screw.

HL data storage is kind of a old company (Hitachi LG) and the drives are alright, they aren't to die for but I've had good luck with them

ItsMyNaturalColour  Hey Tom another great video! Just to say did you take the 8 extra screws at the front of the case? 6:00 above the power button. HP and Compaq Desktop PC's always put extra screws at the front of the case for you to use :)

you do realize the screws in the hard drive and optical drive were more for rails? if you pulled the tabs on the green bits the drives just pull out the front.

Although you would have no use for it, others like me who use a 11 year old PC would have loved it plus that thing could have many more years of use with linux on it like mine and a few small upgrades here and there heck it probably doesn't need any upgrades its fine for the average user

Only a few years ago I spent nearly $200 on a pentium 4 PC with a gig of ram an integrated 64MB graphics card. Haha how times change. :)

If it's other than the ATX250-12E, then you're fine.

dont justify a power supply being decent for ttesting anything just because its got a 24 pin connector or sata....   those bestec power supplys are system grenadiers...   and it should be thrown out....  i wouldnt with a conscience give that to anyone to use...
