Really saved my fingers on this one! Been trying to pop open a laptop for hours, didn’t realize the hidden two screws! Thank you so much!

Thank you for this video! This will be the first time I've disassembled a laptop, the instructions are very clear and concise!

Thanks for your help. I had to replace the HDD for a friend of mine who has a very similar notebook (a HP Pavilion Notebook 15-ab004nh), I was nearly at the end of my patience when I finally found your video and thus the hidden screws. Cheers!

Denis, your video saved my sanity yesterday. Even though my HP laptop is a completely different model, the bottom cover is exactly the same as this one. I had searched in vain for an explanation of where all the hidden (to me) screws are located. Thanks to you, I successfully replaced the fan, and everything is humming along nicely. Next step: replace the thermal paste. But now I won't be intimidated.

Thanks for the help. Too bad I don't have small screwdrivers to remove the metallic screws under the CD drive

Thanks for this. Wish I'd have seen this earlier, before I cracked the plastic case trying to force the cover off, not knowing there were screws hidden under those 2 stupid sticky things. What a terrible design idea. Thanks though.

Can you tell what screwdriver it is to used to remove nuts under the DVD driver? I could not remove them even with smallest screwdriver I have.

This 9 year old model I am fixing has suffered from plastic fatigue as I was trying to get the back off. You gave me the answer. Push the base backwards to release it from the rear. Thank you.

I probably could have done this without the video, but it would have taken 30 days instead of 30 minutes. What a PITA! Thanks Denis C. !

Very poor design, I changed the hard drive to ssd because the original drive was very slow. Occasionally I had to wait 5-15 minutes for a restart. Disassembly was quite nightmarish as the screws behind the DVD drive were stuck, it was impossible to remove. I will never buy such a computer.

Thank you so much for this. I have a different model so my screws were a bit different and I didn't have to remove the hinge things. This was great for someone like me who has no idea how to do these things. My hard drive said it disconnected so I came here to try to take the computer apart and fix it. Loved this, thank you again so much!

Nope, not "any" HP series 15. My hinge covers do not pop off, and they have rubber feet in them that were concealing screws. Worse, HP put a secondary cover under the foot, since when I tried to pop one off it was not moving at all like yours so I decided to pull one of the feet out and there was no hole. I decided it was just stuck so I pulled hard on it and it broke revealing the screw that was holding it. I managed to dig the little plastic disc out to get to the screw in the second one, but now I have a broken hinge cover that also served as a foot for the laptop. I'll never be able to travel with without fear of losing it and it will wobble on the table without it.

Really helpful. My Pavilion was kinda different and there are no teardowns for these specific models but this helped tremendously! Also, I didn't mind that this was accurate because that laptop was having consistent hardware failures I just didn't care to break it.
