Robby Lashua from Stand to Reason joins me to unravel the complex tapestry of apologetics and pastoral care, specifically as they relate to the deeply personal topic of biblical sexuality. With society bombarding us with conflicting messages about the nature of sexual relationships, Robby's pastoral heart and apologetic acumen guide us through these murky waters. Our conversation ventures into the essential role of the church in offering not just a critique of contemporary sexual idolatry but a transformative vision of sexuality and marriage based on scriptural principles. As we traverse from the significance of godly intimacy to the pitfalls of past purity cultures, Robby's insights shine a light on a path that leads away from personal gratification and towards divine purpose.

Wrestling with tough societal questions isn't just for adults; it starts at home with our children. Facing the challenge head-on, we discuss the imperative of nurturing candid discussions about sex within Christian families from an early age. By equipping our children with an understanding of sexuality that aligns with the Bible, we prepare them to counteract harmful cultural narratives. This episode strips back the layers of silence often shrouding this topic in the church, highlighting the role of parents as discipleship guides in shaping young minds, particularly young men, with a healthier, biblically-grounded perspective.

As we navigate the choppy seas of biblical interpretation regarding homosexuality, particularly in light of the upcoming film "1946," Robby assists in dissecting original Greek terms and the variations in scripture translations like the ESV and NASB. We also reflect on Pope Francis's remarks on same-sex unions and the implications these hold for Catholic theology, emphasizing the importance of a scriptural foundation. Join us for this deeply compassionate and honest conversation, and discover resources to support upholding a biblical standard of sexuality.

Unfortunately men can come up with ALL kinds of fairy tales to TRY to make THEIR sin ok.
BUT the WORD of GOD can NOT nor will GODS word change for
ANYONE.

I can tell the poster of this video has read exactly 4 words of the Bible

The original word used when men desired other men was "sodomite" which has been watered down to homosexuality. In any case, it's still categorized as sexually immoral in the OT and NT.

I like how people can treat Christianity so bad but you wouldn’t do that to a Muslim or a Buddhist and so on

To answer the question ❓ in the it was not added to it. Sexual sin was part of the fall of Sodom and Gomorrah. And homosexuality is definitely hated by God as all sin is across the board. God doesn't hate the person but the deeds he hates.

Homosexuality has been in the bible for a long time, you can even find it in the original KJV from the 1600's. Not in the fact of saying the word "homosexuality", but in the fact that men with men is a sin and an abomination to God.

A video made in bad faith (ie making a video disputing a claim no serious person has ever made) doesn’t seem like a very sensible way to behave.

God word never changes. Men trying to justify their sin never changes either.
Idolatry much?

I don't see how we were ever supposed to do that.

One of the most ludicrous points ever made in reference to The Bible. 'Homosexual' and 'homosexuality' are English words, and, of course, The Bible wasn't written in English; changing nothing from the fact that The Bible condemns homosexuality as a heinous sin. Stop playing semantics with the truth of God, folks! Otherwise, have a happy holidays.

It was never there in the Bible and will never be in the Bible. The bible never changes. God said a man and woman will be together only or else you're living in sin. That is the truth and it doesn't change cause of someone's opinion. Your opinion means nothing. Gods word is truth. Stop trying to misinterpret the bible cause that is also a sin.

A of stuff was added to the bibble in order to fit their agenda. That's the entire christian way after all. "Oh it doesn't say anything like that in our book yet? Crap! Quick! Write that down and tell everyone someone from the past who knew Jesus said it!" 😂

Sorry, but no, you see the "bible" as you know it is a translation of a much older text, the Pentateuch, or the Hebrew bible. It was written by 40 men over the course of 1700 years in over 390 locations centuries before King James had his version commissioned. In the Hebrew Torah, homosexuality and sodomy were ALWAYS considered a then again, so is infidelity, pedophilia, beastiality, incest, sex before marriage, You get the picture. I take issue with a church that nit-picks about only one of those sins, while accepting the rest of them. Heterosexuality is not exempt from sin because it's done between the correct sexes, sin is sin, and all carnal sin can be forgiven if one only repents and refrains. Is that easy? No, clearly not, but we need to stop bickering about other people and start handling our own crosses.

To all of you reading this, you are loved, so love each other. This is a significant part of the great commission. Be gentle in speaking and slow to anger, we are ALL under the influence of dark forces, none of us are immune, help each other instead of attacking each other, we're all in this mess together.

Jesus always spoke about marriage and divorce between a male and female only. And there are clear verses that say being gay is a sin in the old and new testament, it's Gods own words. (Romans 1:26-27) If youre gonna say the disciples got that wrong then why believe any of the Bible?
Like 1 Corinthians says "such were some of you". There were ex homosexuals in the time of the apostles and there are plenty of ex homosexuals today who have turned to God and truly repented.

It's time for humanity to move beyond these myths. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

I’m pretty sure it was mistranslated from the Greek Bible initially and now apparently Jesus thinks I’m just as bad as a murderer

It is an error to teach that acting on sin is qualified as “sin” that’s not biblical. Jesus said that if so desire in heart…. Paul said I am crucified with Christ with my flesh and its desires…. New creation and new life and new desires in Christ. That’s the truth.

No. Homosexually was not added to the Bible.

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:”

Revelation 22:18

Great video❤
