if you still own a note 7, update it to the latest frimware. there's your brick

btw if a software update gets interrupted, on next bootup the phone might show a "fastboot", "the system is destroyed!" message, or... nothing.
if the memory fails, the phone shows the Linux penguin in the middle of the screen.
an example is the "hard brick". the phone cannot start, but any Qualcomm device can secretly enter EDL (Emergency Download Mode). This is a sign of a hard brick.

Speaking of launchers for Android - I have one called Trek Total Interface that is completely customizable! It replicates an LCARS screen interface from Star Trek! Since installing the interface (through the Total Launcher app) it takes me a few seconds to reorient myself to the standard UI used by Android! Lol! In the same vein, my phones interface takes others by surprise when I tell them that I have an easier time navigating it than the stock installed on Samsung phones! It's fun and all the 'buttons' are edit-able (?) with sounds, apps, links, etc. Anyhoo, thought I'd put my two Darseks into the conversation...
