Hi all, keep in mind that I'm doing this blind while also thinking of the best way to explain my thought process, speaking to y'all, planning how to best present my math for y'all, and actually writing things down all at the same time. So there'll probably be mistakes here and there, please let everyone know if you find any in the comments!

Question 9: Approach is great... but... the radius of the cylinder is not r. It's sqrt(r^2 -h^2/4). This makes a difference in the end and also gets rid of the negative sign prior to cube rooting. Answer becomes cube root 6.

Some of these questions might as well be ripped straight out of my second year math lecture. I remember why I dropped HL. Heart goes out to everyone who took the exam this year. Pop off Mr. Le!!

@57:50 I messed up the position vector of B, should be ( s, 8 + s, -3 ). This will change the length of AB, and it's usage for the next question. But y'all should just do what Eric S. said and use right angled trig to find |AB|

Not too sure what happened for part (d) at 57:00, but I think that the simplest solution is using right-angle trigonometry. |AB|=|PA| sin theta = 3sqrt(2)

r= the radius of the sphere. The radius of the cylinder is sqrt(r^2-h^2/4) in problem 9. The h value is supposed to be positive and that is the reason you got a negative.

This isn’t TZA (UTC +3.5-12) actually, I got different question so I suspect it’s TZC (Americas)

Le calcul-your answer and method for question 9 is wrong. The correct answer is h=(6)^1/3.Regards Dr.Sabapathy.
