A nozzle buildup detector is a great idea. That should be fairly easy to do even with the photo AI that can run on Pis.

Instead of bumping up to 4K, maybe there’s a version with higher max fps so you can watch failures in slow motion and get a deep understanding of the problem if your other troubleshooting leaves you confused

Oh heck yeah! The very first thing I did with my 3D printer was design a mount for a usb otoscope used to look inside ears. It's been a HUGE help with dialing the printer in and keeping an eye on how things are going..

I did the same thing with an endoscope I had laying around from automotive work. Plugged it into klipper as a second camera and check it

I love how clearly you see the oozing during slow retract with that yellow filament. (You need to speed up your retractions!)

Mine is with the courier somewhere, arriving in a couple of days. I strongly believe that it can be enormously helpful in diagnosing and solving may issues, together with the beauty of the images

You can do this with just about any laptop webcam that is convertible to USB. You just surround the camera in heat shrink tubing. If you're feeling frisky you can tear apart a desktop webcam and print a housing that you can attach to the print head yourself.
