I am personally a cricket that can’t stand visual chaos. However, I compromise with labeled ladybug, so I don’t overwhelm my family. My husband is a full on butterfly, but our kids are bee, or ladybug. Hubby can indulge his butterfly tendencies in his spaces. Kids also have their own spaces that can be fully theirs. As the one that does 90% of the household chores though, I decided the majority of the house had to work in a way that is functional for me. If anyone wants to take over the chores, I’ll let them organize in a way that is functional for them.

My boss called me a maximalist the other day because my office is full bee. I’m actually a minimalist cricket and prefer visual simplicity, but my office is full of craft and story telling supplies for volunteers to help themselves to, so I made it as easy as possible for someone to come in and find what they’re looking for.

I feel like craft areas are like a world in themselves... meaning super specific organization makes sense because... there are so many categories in one small space, you may only want to use one or a few subsections at a time, and you want to know exactly where everything is. At least that's how it is for me. My beads are so micro-sorted!

Every door in my house is festooned with things on hooks, and all my storage containers are transparent. :D

I labeled myself a ladybug but I noticed I do put things in smaller categories in my hidden spaces. I am a gardener and have my seeds in photo containers and they are in their own labeled cases. And my silverware/utensil drawers are sorted pretty well. Other than that, it’s just hidden.

You know CAS you gave me permission to macro sort! I didn't realize I needed that...I'm a paper hoarder. I went through boxes of papers during the last ADD stuff from.2003 to the current. 37 pounds for shred.
