Toyota just trying to throw shade. I mean they were showing videos of a car with what they claim is a solid state battery.🙄🤦‍♂️. Really if you have a working version of the solid state battery why would you not be going all in?🤷🏼‍♂️

Actually, its much worse for a mine underground. ICE engines not only put out deadly carbon monoxide but use up all the breathable oxygen in the mine.

Toyota’s marketing department is working overtime with this one. To be clear, Toyota has ZERO intention of converting to 100% BEVs.

Good job as always. Do you know the CHERY QQ Icecream. Same price as Wuling EV, but looks better. You're doing a great job, greetings from Bavaria.

5:42 Electric vehicles aren't 'Often used underground', (Light vehicles) they are at prototype stage only and while it is fantastic to reduce the particulate emissions out of the underground environment that the workforce breathes, the reality is that they are currently unable to complete a full 12hr shift AND then be ready for the following shift, charged up for use, in the same way that a diesel LV can.

There have been trials also at the mine 8 work at in NSW and the vehicle there can only just make 12hrs on the surface where the ground is relatively flat.

Typically almost every modern underground mine is built with road grades of one in seven.
This requires an awful lot of energy to climb out back to the surface, and from the bottom of many mines this could be an uphill run of ukm or more, plus whatever other running around is completed during the shift. An underground supervisor or diesel fitter might complete 100-150km of low range driving in a single shift.

There's not currently enough on board capacity to change the full fleet to EV and the vehicle conversion cost is staggeringly expensive, it is actually more than the new cost of the original Land Cruiser!

Toyota speaks with a forked tongue.
What they say is not what they are doing quietly behind the scene.

Why don't Ford and Toyota buy some CATL or BYD cells and get it over with. You can't beat them, they have the chemistry and pricing. Buy the cells and get on with building the cars and trucks.

Not sure if Tesla supplying coal mining companies with EVs is the way to go.

Lots of luck selling high-priced EV Land Cruisers if Rivian survives; Rivian's truck and SUV have great surefootedness on rough terrain and are very user friendly. Can Toyota's vehicles compete on price and features? I doubt it. AND they'll be a bit late to the party. Worth a try, but a big ask.

Well, ICE car makers have to support ICE cars for at least 15 years, right? And gas stations have to stick around for at least that long, too, right?

Two things to explore about Toyota:
1. Global fleet wise, Toyota cars use less fuel than other big manufacturers, on average, today and for the last 10 years, and in the near future.
2. Toyota’s campaign against EVs is a desastrous decission, most people today are willing to preserve this planet and life diversity. Modifying quickly (100 years is light speed change for a planet) the content of atmosphere and ocean by burning stuff will lead to us humans and all other life forms to destabilize the environment which created us (or allowed us to exist in this form). Most people are starting to understand how this works and Toyota looks like the destroyer of human life style. I don’t want to live permanently indoors with conditioned air, eat laboratory meals, and who knows what else.

u keep mentioning fire fighters and desiel fuel smoke life span. are u really 100% saying its just the vehicle's smoke. what about the smoke from all the fires. i like the channel i am subbed but that stat u keep using is bugging me a lot. truck drivers are around desiel all day everyday and even highway users breath the stuff. i drive with my vents closed and i know the exact smell that is desiel fuel. u need a better and more credible stat to use.

Ford: it did a 180° on EVs when it fired Mark Fields, but that SUV maker will be like turning a Semi tractor trailer around, Toyota?it will be like an Oil Barge Tanker, miles to stop, turning it around will take forever.

Toyota are not disinterested in EVs. That would imply some degree of objectivity. They are actively UNinterested in EVs.

@4:00 *Toyota* will be the *Bucyrus-Erie* (†) of the vehicle market. There's no need to get upset about it, unless you're a shareholder or an employee.

I'd give it 5 years for anyone to be able to afford an EV.
The key is the used market. With current advancements in battery tech and BMS, a lot of new EVs that are sold now will still be very usable in 5 years.
I am not sure how the used market will adjust to this, but I am very much looking forward to seeing a big variety of currently new EVs sold for good prices used.

Toyota plans far ahead. Hydrogen fuel cells are the future. FCEVs are EVs. Just more desirable to customers than BEVs once infrastructure is built out.

Love your show but I have heard you mention the relationship between cancer and firefighters. Please consider the fact that firefighters breathe in smoke from burning buildings and equipment. They breathe in more types of smoke and fuels than any other vocation. Cheers
