Replacing MacBook Pro with a Windows Laptop in 2024 (Dell XPS vs M3 Pro)

I tried replacing my M3 Pro MacBook with the Dell XPS 14. This is how it went.

Considering your have a gaming pc already - I would suggest you trade in your Xps for either the Surface laptop 7 or the xps (snapdragon variant) as that''ll lead the improved thermals and battery life.

The XPS is gorgeous. The thing that I just don't get is the touchbar at the top and the micro SD card slot. Anything less than full SD card slot should be banned from laptops passed a certain price point.

Thank you so much for mentioning StartAllBack since I've only been using Windows 11 since 2022, but stopped using it since I went on a career break and my main computer was a Mac, only got back on the game this year with a Windows laptop for work, and not having the task/status bar at the top like previous versions has been killing me.

That said, I think the OS will still play a huge factor when it comes to choosing these 2 expensive laptops. I may also be biased, but the MBP speakers, and especially the webcam is far superior than Dell's offering.

Have the XPS 13 Plus

You should do a Asus G14 2024 review in the future, it's basically a MacBook if it had windows on it.
The AMD chip is around M2 MacBook performance with a 32gb and a 4070 inside, all for $2, 000 at full price and it's also made out of aluminum.
However, because it has a powerful GPU, it will get hot overtime because the aluminum traps heat inside.
But if you're on the go, with some configurations, you can get around 10 hours of battery life with the right settings, I've bought it for my software development major and I love it.
