It really helps to get a wash rag and saturate in 90% alcohol and scrub the area after scraping the caulk off (wear a mask & gloves). Let sit overnight to dry, a damp-rid bucket in the area helps to dry the water that has leaked inside over time.
The alcohol gets rid of the leftover caulk and leaves an oil free area when you put new caulk on.

I like to wipe everything with rubbing alcohol as the final cleaning step. Makes caulk stick to everything better.

Just a word of caution make sure the razor blade doesn’t get flipped over. The razor blade should be using the same direction every time as you are holding the blade if the razor baby gets flipped over you can scratch the tub. This also applies to razor blading glass.

Area needs to be scraped and cleaned and thoroughly dried before you even touch the caulking gun.

Spray with a mold killer type mixture after you remove caulk then clean it with a Damp Magic eraser or sand block then let dry prior to finishing the caulking. 😍😍😍😍also less is better and apply more if you need to.

God damn I wish the old stuff came off that easy... It's a PAIN to remove it, took me a few hours.

btw you should use glove when handling mold and clean btter before applying new silicon

Try denatured alcohol, spray right before you wipe it, doesn’t take a ton. But the outcome is SUPER clean

I do maintenance, a great tool for this (and many other tasks) is a none flexible 1" puddy knife sharpened almost razor sharp.

you don't clean bleach or peroxide all the mold.I think you need to add bleach or ammonia or something before adding the new one... how can we kill that mold forever.

Should fill tub with water first and use silicone, handy dude! 😂
