Just a heads up. Most charge controllers need the battery voltage applied first. If you apply the solar voltage first. You may damage your charge controller. You may see some round tubular shaped circuit breaker. I recommend you not use them. I had one on the battery side of my system fail. Which left the voltage from the solar panels applied to the charge controller. As I said earlier this destroyed my charge controller. Always apply your battery voltage to your charge controller first. Then apply the voltage from your solar panels. To shut down your system turn off the power from your solar panels first. Then turn off the power from your batteries. Following this procedure just may save you from buying a new charge controller. Read the instructional manual closely for the information about applying power to your charge controller.
