Really helpful video - very interesting also in your experience of what happens when current is exceeded.
All the best, David 👍

Please explain how someone could exceed the output amperage from the controller?

I can see that the battery BMS if you exceed the amperage threshold in your BMS it would reset but the controller is only going to put out what the controller puts out how can you exceed the output amperage on the controller?

Thank you

6:00 Isn’t the 50 the maximum charge current for the battery?

I have a 12 volt system and I'd like to replace my older Tristar-45 PWM controller with a Victron 150/45 MPPT smart controller. Can I do that if my system includes three 100W 12 volt panels (Voc=21.84, Isc=6.11, max voltage=17.99) wired in parallel? I've read that the Victron needs to see 5v above the battery voltage to even start charging. Thanks!

Hey dear I am facing power dropping issue in series connection. I have connected 340watt and 380watt solar panels in series to epever mppt controller. It show power of one panel when I disconnect solar connector and reconnect, the mppt show both Panels. It’s hard to do this every morning. It was fine in winter but now summer starting and facing this issue. Using both panels form 2 months. images attacked. I have to try both in parallel to see what mppt response. Both panels volts amps are little different. Tesla 34.51v maxpower 33.18v. Tesla amps 11.01amps maxpower 10.29amps.

how do you adjust for the charging voltage required by the batteries?

2:30 - I would expect the mppt to shut down instead of burning up.

50 is your case of your inverter is the Max Output Current it can produce or Max input Current? I have some spare bifacial Solar Panels of 580Watts, the data sheet shows Voc = 52.2 V and Isc = 13.93 A under STC, and 48.9 V 11.09 A under Non Stc test, which values do we need when sizing charge controller ?

My Mppt is 145Voc/100Amp output/17 Max input, can I not connect 4 panels in 2 series ? I am confused please help?

Just give the maximum amount it can handle. No one cares about how cold it is or isn’t is out. Max amount PERIOD …!!!!
