The isunerg or vehpro or sunyima (they are all the same) MPPT charge controller 100a; is it worth it, and does it make sense?

Here is the description from their amazon listing; it actually clearly states that this device IS an MPPT controller, but it isn't. It is, however, a great charge controller for the money! It gives you a lot of information about your battery, which so many charge controller fail to do. I think its worth every penny.

Advanced Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology, with efficiency no less than 99.5%. High quality components, perfecting system performance, with maximum conversion efficiency of 98%. Ultra-fast tracking speed and guaranteed tracking efficiency.
Large-screen LCD display, charging and discharging current display, cumulative power generation and discharge power query, temperature display, light control + delay control; adjustable charge and discharge parameter, with power-off memory and other functions.
Dual USB output, the maxmum current of 2.5A, to support Apple's mobile phone charging.
All necessary protections equipped, adjustable controlling parameter of the system, easy to set up and operate.
Build-in short-circuit protection, open-circuit protection, reverse protection, over-load protection. reverse current protection, low heat production, having self-recovering and do not damage the controller.

Not MPPT! I was wondering how it was so cheap on Amazon. Thanks for telling us. Greetings from sunny Jamaica.

I got similar, open it up, and most of the transistors did not touch the back steel plate for cooling. Added some thermal paste and bended the transistors for the good contact. Removed the rattling metal piece inside, that got my attention at the first place.

The battery has a smiley face, I'm sold...😄

I had one of these for over a year. Works great when battery type is set right. It finally crapped out. So I bought another to hold me over until i get an actual real mppt. This new replacement sucks. Will not give me more than 2 amps from the panels. Normally id be at 11amps. And does not charge my batteries fully. So these are a hit or miss. First one was awesome...second junk. Just the push i need to upgrade.

I have used this for many years.. I have to replace them once a year. They stop working. I notice that the backplate can get very hot. Now I bought a 100 amp rated . The Moffet shorted I had a 20 amp load. Causing extreme heat on the positive cable connected from the solar panel to the controller wire started to burn. Even if you buy a 100 amp controller mine failed at a 20amp current draw. I have switched to a more expensive one with bigger heat sink

Very good PWM, very good for the price, you have all The adjustmants you need, i have now a very good real MPPT, but that One was very good.

Regarding the battery type - on my manual says b1(default) is for lead-acid batteries, b2 - lithium ion battery, b3 - lithium iron phosphate, which is mine at the moment.

I would never spend a cent for a product with false labeling.

Battery low or full ..how can I understand?

I use the load side and it work quite nice and it have a low voltage protection embedded in so quite nice for the price

I installed two in my battery Bank for my two 450 watt panels, they run my 5000 BTu AC in my camper...

The Amazon description states this is an MPPT charge controller that is superior to PWM. Knowing its not MPPT (Chinese Co using the letters as a secondary "brand name" vs the actual MPPT technology. Nor only is the Co's that resale this product lying, so is Amazon. How tricky!
My instructions discuss downloading an app. When attempting to download it I got big scary warnings that it could be "harmful". I'll stick with the manual only for now.

I lost the manual for mine, thanks so much for that :)

I bought one of these and it is Garbage. I can't even set the thing to the cutoff voltage. I have other simple controllers that work the same way but this thing seems fixated on charging a single battery to 24V. I recommend people avoid this style unit.

I have one. It does the pwm function alright but as a charger is not good for lead acid batteries. No multiphase charging (another lie) just charges at a fixed voltage.

I tried two 60A controllers for 540W panel. After hooking up battery, both froze the screen when plugging in solar, causing the screen to flicker.

I bought the 100A model because the price was just too good. When I purchased it I knew that it was not a true MPTT and had head it was a good PWM. Unfortunately, the instructions are lacking. The instructions don't even mention what b01, b02, or b03 are even though it is an important setting. (B01 = Gel; B02 = AGM.; B03 =lead acid flooded) I set it up for 12V, flooded lead acid. The controller charged the battery at 14.7 V, which would apparently be the correct charge voltage. However, soon my batter started to boil over because the controller kept charging it at 14.7. So, I had to adjust the float voltage down to 12.6 to stop the battery from boiling over. So, I have to wait and see what happens now.

How do you change the float charge and max bulk charge setting for this controller?

Mine keeps shutting down. I connect inverter straight to battery and it's holding the charge for few minutes, but won't do it through charge controller. I tested the output amp it's like 5amps, so 10amp output controller should be able to handle 5amp. I'm trying to run slow cooker at low power and the controller shuts down. And my load auto is always off not sure why?
