I've been having this same issue with my 2005 Chevy Cobalt. It's a third time now at my dealership and they might be close to narrowing down the issue. It could be the BCM that has gone bad. They're going to hold it one more day to test it again to make sure it's that before they replace anything

Abre el TCM, está muy bien sellado, como sea y con mucho cuidado, tienes que soldar unos pequeños cable que andan reventados que son la tierra. Y listo armas y todo funciona normalmente

I wish everyone the best of luck with this issue as it can be very scary and sporadic making it hard to pin point.

These electrical problems seem to make a transmission that was physically checked over and given a 5 star rating jerk hard when taking off and shake on slow down.

To be fair those symptoms are completely different than the ones in the video but all relate to the control modules and various electrical problems a lot of these mid 2000's GM vehicles have.

Hats off to everyone fighting the good fight but we got rid of the car. Considering one problem just seemed to lead to another with nothing but a raising repair bill in sight for a car we were outgrowing, this fight wasn't worth the effort.

My car has had this problem since 40k miles. It now has over 70k miles. Ill be driving down the interstate and the power steering will go out. This isnt safe, but when I called GM they said "tough luck". Report your problem to NHTSA at 18883273246 if they receive enough complaints GM will be forced to issue a recall.

Our car started doing this in the cold of late 2013. The problem was intermittent and would correct itself until the real cold of the winter came and we could barely get it started. Go to

to view the history of the problem, what symptoms and troubleshooting steps were taken and how the issues got resolved. (So far and hopefully.)

I did a lot of research online when the car was doing this and this seems to be a problem for several chevy cobalt owners. So please ignore the poor commentary (as you can hear my wife is quite surprised it started and yes it's quite but running in this video) and I hope this helps someone else with the same problems as much as everyone else information online helped us.

The follow up video can be found here:

Scanners only tell you there is a problem and not always what the root cause of the issue is. Find a mechanic who can take their time and troubleshoot the symptoms.

Throwing parts at electrical problems is no way to fix these things.

Take care everyone.
