Nick McCombie... I have a 2007 Cobalt... After the mechanics at my shop fixed and repaired a main ground wire...costing almost 300 dollars... I was still having issues...like...check engine light...No cruise control...No automatic lock and unlock when putting shifter in Park position or in Gear... But thanks to your video...and that wire connector you pointed out... 3 of those 4 ground wires were broken... i re-spliced them...twisted them together...crimped on a new ring connector and soldered it...and then bolted it back on with the 4th wire on its own connector... UG The Check engine light went out...My Cruise Control is now working...as well as the Automatic lock and unlock feature when shifting from Park to Reverse/Drive Position with the shifter... KUDOS TO YOU YOUNG MAN...I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH...!!! You figured out...what my mechanics could not...!!! BTW...the codes that kept showing up in the system were...P0700...and code...P0705... I Salute you My Boy...KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK WITH YOUR VIDEOS...!!! If anyone is having the same codes showing up...and the same issues or problems...chances are...this video will help you... Awesome video. I cleaned up that ground near the headlight. Sprayed some blaster on it. Hit it with a wire brush. Odometer, hard shifting, and 0700 code went away. Definitely check that ground before you replace anything. I spent a week waiting on the part an the dealership to flash and program the tcm. Still had issues after replacing the tcm but not as bad. Soon as I cleaned that ground though it was working fine

I had no crank issue. Tried the ignition switch but that didn’t help. I found the problem as you described. Thank you!

Thanks for the video. I was having a no crank situation as well as the old shifter stuck in Park problem. Refreshing this ground fixed everything!

Great tip, thanks. I’m having weird flickering gear indicator dash light issues that result in the car being stuck in 3rd gear. Will give this a shot. Just have to find the ground on my Mazda6.

its the trans wiring harness leaking flid on the connection it not just this trans ding it several other GM trans cause the same thing. Use brake clean. Pull it apart from the trans clean it out put it back together problem solved. Took awhile to figure it out but haven't had an issue since

Sprayed and scrubbed all of my ground connectors with electronic cleaner and it stopped my car from hard shifting.

My granddaughter just started college and all she has to drive is my daughter’s 2009 Chevy cobalt and doesn’t want to go into overdrive so do you know of anything that we can do to help with it please ?

I had the U2105 code and power steering code it was shifting hard and other things tried ground wire add trans fluid didn't work then tried recycling the key and it worked problem fix so I would try that first.

Hey I'm having kind of the same problem but my power steering is hard I mean my steering wheel is hard to turn and it's shipping out real hard but I have no power steering and it's when I get on my brakes it's clicking from the gearbox or a little shift little shift is on the side of the seat with this fixed my problem

I did this and it still won’t fix and I added the wire now it won’t work without the wire
