I adopted a 4 year old pitbull in 2023 after a tornado demolished the shelter she was in. I honestly didn't know what I was getting into but I got the absolute best dog in my life. I don't know how she came to be in the shelter but someone loved her and trained her incredibly well. I just know she was found on the street 2 days before the tornado hit. I get so many compliments on her training and I'm honest that a good 90% was her previous owner. I spend a lot of time reinforcing her training but she's such a confident and relaxed dog, everyone loves her to bits. I absolutely got the lottery when she came into my life. I thought i was just saving her from being euthanized, it was scheduled in a few days but this last year has been especially hard and she keeps me going a lot of days.

These two pitbulls reminds me of my two pitbulls I have lost.
Those dogs would be so chilled to a point where I'm the one who is nervous for those dogs that bark at them.
I mean I trained them to be chilled but also protective to me and my family, but whoever trained those dogs, salute.

My friends pit bull in Costa Rica scared off a pack of street dogs stocking me when coming home at night. I was attacked by a German Shepard as a kid. it’s been pit bulls, hearding breeds and Akitas that have helped heal my ability to remain calm around dogs. Love this channel

My Presa canario has this level of chill. She’s had aggressive dogs run up to her in her own yard and she barely reacts. It’s amazing how quickly other dogs calm down, when they encounter a dog not reacting. She’s so calm and gentle, she’s even worked with dogs that are afraid of dogs and helped them to overcome their anxiety. I do realize that she’s 110lbs of potential danger though, so we do training every day.

It's not natural for any animal to not follow his instinct but when we talk about domesticated animals (or pets) it's 100% a necessary training. Even for humans. Great tutor's job! Respect.

I had an American bull dog, walking him on leash i had a dog run up on us barking, my guy was calm but he was ready his hair was standing up and his back legs were twitching but the dog coming up on us never invaded our space. It was a very lucky dog.
