The wasps may be docile, but they tend to build in the worst and inconvenient places. Like putting your hand underneath the trashcan handle and grabbing a live nest at the same time!

At my house we don’t call them a reproductive wasp. We call them a dead wasp.

These guys build crazy fast. I left my porch door open one day and over the course of a nap, they had several cells and had the first layer of a nest about 3 inches wide

I studied these wasps under the overhang of my shed, you don't mess with them, they won't mess with you. They are great pollinators! Their nests don't usually get anywhere near as large as a Yellow Jackets. I love these things! They actually make honey too, something I didn't know until last year. Fascinating insects.

Paper wasps are the only wasps with any kind of chill. Never been stung by a paper wasp, and I used to be the one in charge of getting rid of them at my job. Paper wasps are the only wasps I don't kill on sight.

One time I was playing in a creek with my cousins and we were walking down the creek then we heard a tree branch fall. We didn’t think anything of it so we kept walking. When we turned around we heard buzzing so two of my cousins started running leaving me and two other cousins. Yellow jackets started swarming us. We all got stung multiple times but I got stung 40+ times. If I was allergic I would be dead. So now every time a see a stinging insect I go crazy lol.

It’s incredible how strong that little hanger they build is, you can pull the whole nest off and that little thing it hangs off will be there for years.

i befriended a wasp last year. she came into my window every day, i fed her honey, she was friendly but cheeky.

I do gutters for a living and it sucks cleaning out some of the gutter guard because they like to make their nest underneath of those.
