one of my favorite hints to ford is in dreamscapers. gideon tells bill to go into the mind of stanford pines, and bill turns around and thinks for a moment, knowing that stanford pines is somewhere in another dimension. a character that we assume is grunkle stan shows up for a second on bills body, but if you look closely it’s very obviously stanford

You know for a show they didn’t plan a season 2 for initially, that’s not only incredible foreshadowing, but insanely good writing. Since we got a season 2, we obviously know now these were hints. But say we didn’t get one, these would’ve easy passed over most of our heads and we wouldn’t have questioned it. That’s insane

I always differentiated them with the lines on their chin. Stanford had one line on his chin while Stanley had none.

And, I don’t remember the episode, but on one of the episodes where Stanley is getting the machine ready to start, he wears a glove, but when he wears it, the glove has one more finger, which swings around as Stanley moves his hand, meaning that that was a glove for a person with six fingers, meaning that that glove belonged to the autor of the journals, and by the glove being at the mystery shack and at the secret bunker where the machine is, it meant that the author lived in that installation

The wax museum episode.
Remember how Stan freaked out at first when he saw the wax figure of himself, and then got really happy being around it, and really upset when it got beheaded, even to the point of having a funeral for it.

When you realize that he has a twin brother, all of his interactions with Wax-Stan suddenly become a lot sadder.
