Weird Al is the KING of the parodies. NOBODY else has done them like he does.

So, the key to really enjoying Weird Al's parodies is making sure you know the original song before you hear his version. Check out Nirvana's song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and then listen to his version "Smells like Nirvana" where he makes fun of how nobody could understand the lead singer. Then listen to his original song "Word Crimes" where you will hear just how talented he really is with the amazing composition he created that showcases his command of the English language.

Don't forget his song "Eat It", parody like Michael Jackson's "Beat It"

Fun Fact: Weird Al filmed fat on the same set Michael Jackson filmed bad

Al is often imitated, but he'll never, ever be duplicated. He's like Elvis, Michael Jackson or Prince. There will never be another one like him.

I've seen this video SO many times, and it STILL makes me laugh out loud! I heard in an interview that he gave to Mike Wallace, that Michael Jackson lent him the original set for "Bad", that Weird Al used for "Fat." I hope you'll check out his parody "All About the Pentiums, " which is a parody of Puff Daddy's "All About the Benjamins." Hysterical! Wonderful reaction!

One of his very first parodies was for the Kinks' song LOLA, which he did Star Wars style as YODA. A radio show called Dr. Demento used to play it in 1980 when The Empire Strikes Back came out. You gotta hear it.

Fun Fact: When Weird Al asked Michael Jackson for permission to parody "Bad", not only did he grant him permission, he gave Weird Al the address to the location where the "Bad" video was filmed. Weird Al took advantage of the opportunity to parody the video, and it was a MASTERPIECE.

Michael Jackson himself loved Weird Al's parodies, so when he got word that Weird Al wanted to do "Bad", MJ booked him the actual railway station where the original "Bad" video was shot. And Weird Al also appeared in the video for "Liberian girl"

Sadly it was the last time he would ever do an MJ parody. Because when he got in touch with MJ in 1990 to do a parody of "Black or white" as "Snack all night", MJ told him no. The message of the song was too serious to be made into a humorous version. Weird Al, class act that he is agreed and "Snack all night" was never released.

If you do another weird al reaction such as eat it, i suggest watching michael Jackson's version first. He copies the music videos so well it makes the parody version funnier

Weird Al is the King of parody. He usually works with the same musicians on most songs as well. Very talented guys!

Dude, you have FOUR decades of Weird Al to enjoy. Even now, his concerts are said to be about the best concert you will ever attend. He's just an incredible musician, because he nails everything, and he works SO HARD on the lyrics. There's an amazing feature story about him in the New York Magazine last year, where it talks all about his creative process.

And anyone who gets permission from Michael Jackson TWICE to parody his music is getting it right.

You gotta check out his OLD stuff, like AC/DC's Hells Bells as "Nature Trail to Hell" and MJ's Beat it as "Eat It" and the Nirvana "Smells like Nirvana, " and so many others. He covers ALL styles, ALL flavours, and it's just a hell of a fun ride. He is a master class in writing and creativity. He's no joke. He is phenomenally talented and has been making people laugh for decades. Enjoy the ride. :)

There are so many Weird Al parodies and funny originals done in a parody-style, that you can spend a whole month reacting to only those. The man has been making them since the early 70's (50 years now)

Weird Al was iconic back in the 80s. You know you had made it when Weird Al parodied one of your songs. He liked Michael Jackson so much, he parodied him multiple times.
