Seizing: Personal Stories of Living with Seizures 2019

Based on the Research of Dr. Julie-Ann Scott-Pollock. Students enrolled in an advanced undergraduate course focused on Performance Ethnographic and Performance of Personal Narrative Research Methods perform verbatim stories derived from open-ended interviews of people who live with seizure disorders. Students learned about the ethics of performing the stories of others and seizure disorders as both a personal and cultural experience to prepare for the production.
Note: The performers are performing from a script and do not experience seizures. The actual interviewees who told their stories as part of the research project have opted to keep their identities confidential.
