Katie Cooke is a 20-year-old competitive runner from Dublin. Due to an aggressive form of epilepsy, she experiences up to 14 seizures a day. Despite her condition, Cooke hasn’t let anything stand in the way of her love for running. With the help of her neurologist, who doubles as her running partner, Cooke is never steered off course. With each seizure, she is able to bounce back and keep on going.

That girl is tough as nails. What a champ! I hope they figure out something to get the seizures to stop. I can't imagine how hard it'd be living like that.

I’m an epileptic and seeing other epileptics happy like this makes me so happy. Having seizures non stop is a whole different kind of pain, mentally and physically. This really gave me some hope.

I love how her Doctor supports her and helps her whenever she's having a seizure while on the run

I feel terible for laughing, she's so casual about her disorder. Like it's no big deal, "I'll be fine, cheers" .

This brought me to tears. I’m epileptic and I know how painful it is to just have one seizure. I can’t imagine what she’s going through to have multiple seizures in one day and the fact that she is very positive is such an inspiration.

They're so casual about it like she's just having a seizure and he says, "Oop she's just having a seizure." Btw it's at 2:17

What a beautiful soul. This is exactly how I look at my epilepsy diagnosis. I don't let it get in the way of living my life normally, following all my dreams, passions and goals. I also love being athletic, I feel it helps me feel free and happy. My seizures apparently look like the ones she has when she is shaking. But I have always had mine while I was sleeping, so i have no memory of them, just feeling a bit drunk afterwards. I was told by my neurologist that my seizures can also happen anywhere at anytime... I've just been lucky so far that they haven't and that I am responding well to medication. <3 For me I feel like exercise and eating clean has helped me gain control over my epilepsy <3

It's inspiring to see people like her facing life with so much optimism. It makes you realise that it's all about your mindset, no matter what struggles you are facing, you can still go on, you can still strive for what you want. No matter what life throws at you, you should always get up and continue running forward. Never put it in your mind that you can't, don't let struggles thrown your way weigh you down, fight for what you want, and the end result will leave you accomplished.

WELL DONE! I have Cystic Fibrosis and I can relate! I hate letting my lung disease get in the way. Running, swimming, and bike running help soooo much. Never let a physical illness get in the way of what you want to achieve.

I have epilepsy and I honestly always complain about it but it's not nearly as severe as hers, thank god, but I feel really bad for her.. I hope she one day finds something that will help her
