These kind of stories are so fascinating because, for born Muslims, we have never experienced the kind of challenge that our revert sisters and brothers go through to attain Shahada and face the challenge of learning the Deen constantly fending off Satan's temptations and whispers. Big ❤❤❤❤ to you all.

Subhanallah this sister’s story truly touched me. At the age of 15 I was struggling keeping my hijab on while this sister was sneaking to put it on. Some ppl are truly Allah’s favorites

The first time I heard the Adhan was in Qatar. One of the most beautiful sounds I have ever heard. I also first heard the Surahs be recited & I was brought to tears. This is my 2nd Ramadan & I'm really sad it's almost over. Allaahumma 'innee 'a'oothu bika minal-ma'thami walmaghrami.

Ustadha you are so lucky to have had this kind of care and love from the community. I was betrayed on so many levels ( not only by my family but by other Muslims too), I was/am outcasted/never invited to any events, no one would teach me anything, I was talked about, I was highly misunderstood and the sisters even moved away from me when I went to the masjid to try to pray and make friends.... they didn't even smile at me let alone pray next to me!

Everything I know about Islam, I taught myself. I thank Allah, I got to know my religion before I got to know the Muslim community. I've been so incredibly hurt by Muslims but I never walked away from Allah! Allahu Akbar.

Your Uncle's statement to you that he knew the devil couldn't force you to pray 5x a day, which ended your family opposition, reminds me of what the Ethiopian King told the pagan Arabs who sought to return the Muslims to Mecca who had fled injustice: "The difference between us (Ethiopians) and you (Muslims) is no wider than this line drawn on the ground. You may live among us in peace." Truly much of the African soul and culture seeks peace and justice whether in Ethiopia or in America. May Allah continue to bless you, your family and your mission. Barak'allahufiki. Masha'Allah.

Subhanallah, what a beautiful soul. 22 years as a Muslim and I cannot imagine my life without it. Islam, the only life hack you will ever need.
