Man, I wish more musicians did tutorials for their songs, this is just awesome

I never imagined as a teenager that 20+ years later we'd be able to watch these types of videos and interact with the music/musicians that made us 🧡

The fact that he asked his fans to point out any mistakes he made shows how humble he truly is. Absolute legend

What a wonderful place the internet is. You can get a lesson of a world famous song by the world famous writer of that song. Amazing

I love when artists forget their own songs. It shows they are human

Oh my, been playing guitar for a while and it's often really hard to get these minor details right when covering a song. Getting a lesson on them straight from a band member is amazing, and I've never seen anyone do such an "official" tutorial before! 🤯

Mike, please do more of these "official" tutorials. THIS has never been done before and it's very innovative.

To sum up: The "little harmonic thing" leading into the chorus it's an overdub in standard tuning!
So tune to: *C# G# C# F# B E* .
The PC harmonic will be top 2 strings, 4th fret. 🎸

Enjoy fellows guitarists! 🐺

Now this. This is a gift. Having the musicians who actually wrote the song teach you how to play it is so refreshing. If I try to learn a song on guitar, I have 4 different tablatures and 10 different videos BECAUSE EVERYONE PLAYS IT DIFFERENTLY and I end up frankensteining my own version that I think is right. Much Mahalos Mike.

As a man who disagrees with the people who say that "If the guy who wrote the song plays the wrong notes, they become the right ones", this actually made me smile because there's someone out there who actually admits to their mistakes despite being MIKE FRIGGIN' SHINODA.

I love how Mike can let plenty roll off of him, some things he does hold onto, but for this, he drew A Line In The Sand, and said, “Alright I can’t take this you guys, ” 🤣👏🤝

As someone who has an acoustic guitar but never learned anything past basic chords (but have always wanted to), this is FASCINATING.

My band is doing a 12 song cover set on Halloween and I chose for us to play this (actually I suggested Papercut, but we collectively came around to One Step Closer). You just happened to post this video exactly as my guitarist needed it, how did you know? Thanks for 20+ years of amazing music Mike!
