I love Another, I don't think Death note is a horror anime it's rather mystery, thriller and supernatural. I would also recommend Corpse party and Madoka Magica (I couldn't get through these animes, I dropped these and watched a recap instead)

Also really loved Higurashi When They Cry. Funny side note, i didnt know the new one wasnt the original, so i watched the new one first and i think i liked it better that way. It made the twists so much more shocking

Nobody here watched Yamishibai? I am surprised! But I did watch Another( Great horror anime) but the ending confused me. Oh yeah by the way there's a horror anime called Corpse party. I kinda found it brutal but I think you might like it😅

People need to learn to distinguish action horror from paranormal anime. There's one too many in the action horror genre but very few in the actual paranormal segment.

When talking about paranormal, a ghost, a human spirit or another otherworldly entity is present and people, most likely protagonist tries to get rid of it using exorcism or religious rituals. This genre would not involve kicking & punching demons & devils like in jujutsu kaisen or demon slayer. They're purely action anime & to put them in paranormal wouldn't be fair.

That being said, some of my favorite anime that I believe are of 'paranormal' genre are :
1. Ghost hunt.
2. Corpse party.
3. Xxxholic.
4. Psychic detective yakumo.
5. Yamishi bai series.

If someone has suggestions about similar anime, please do tell.

You should watch all of these aside from another. It's more of a slapstick. Yamishibai is probably the only one out of the others that I would classify as horror.
