I'm 24 and have had high cholesterol and heart arrhythmia since the 6th grade. Even after changing to a majority vegetarian diet and exercising regularly I still can't seem to have a normal cardiovascular system. I'm not overweight, probably under to be honest, so most likely a genetic issue. This kind of news makes me sleep just a little bit easier at night. Thank you!

Wow, this is actually a breath of fresh air. I currently have a heart stent in my left ventricle due to a heart attack I sustained a few years ago. My cholesterol can't be controlled without medication and it was this plaque accumulation that caused my heart attack. It is kinda frustrating knowing that your body already had the means to fight off plaque buildup but doesn't on it's own. Ill keep a closer eye on this topic.

I watched this video....and started crying. I am 52 years old and have been dealing with heart disease for a long time. My FIRST heart attack....I was 27 yrs old. I try not to think about....when the one that's going to kill me will it will. I would be in a human study I could spend more time with my grandkids tommorow.
Thanks more making this video.

When it comes to heart disease, as an exercise physiologist I recommend taking anything that increases nitric oxide such as beet root and L-Citrulline which in turn will help the arteries relax and maintain or improve elasticity which in turn will prevent the laying down of plaque. Of course you must prevent the lesions to begin with so maintaining optimal blood sugar levels is another thing that must be done. Berberine can help with this! Also, to help with repairs you must have adequate amounts of vitamin C. A liposomal version does good for this or better yet a high dose up to 15g IV infusion a couple of times per month.

Keep your blood pressure in check as well to prevent lesions. Short spikes in BP when exercising is good because it helps the arteries remain elastic. However, long term BP issues can cause significant damage to the endothelium, especially if the diastolic is consistently over 100mmHg.

Vitamin E in the form of mixed tocotrienols must also be added to the list. Up to 2g of Omega 3s is another that must be added to help reduce inflammation. Another one to add is a good quality R-Lipoic Acid to detoxify water and fat soluble cells and reduce oxidative stress. IV Glutathione up to 3g through a push or drip in 500ml sodium chloride will help detoxify and increase glutathione status thereby reducing toxicity levels in the body which in turn reduces ROS.

I also like to take up to 2 full tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil per day to keep optimal bile flow which in turn keeps the liver detox pathways wide open and maintaining a healthy liver function. If you have problems with your liver, you will have very high cholesterol and triglycerides.

Lastly, if you have access to an infrared sauna you should try and use it at least 5 days per week for up to 25 minutes! Studies show that this alone can reduce cardiovascular disease by up to 50% and all cause mortality by up to 40%! That's huge!

A lot more to this, but hope the bit of information I have shared can help someone. Oh, I follow my own routine and I am 56 years of age and after checking my aortic pulse wave velocity to measure the health of my arteries, the test results show I have the arteries of someone in their 30s. Of course proper diet and exercise that includes resistance training and aerobic exercise is a must. Blessings!

As a practicing MD in both clinic and ER with developing coronary disease myself this is VERY interesting. I was not aware of this and I WILL be digging into this research.

With 3 stents inserted several years ago, how I wish I could be a guinea pig for this advancement! Thanks for once again giving us clear explanations of truly mind-blowing discoveries.

The frustrating part about supposed breakthroughs like this is the length of time it takes for them to start being applied, if ever. They always seem to be 10 years away and 10 years from now they'll still be 10 years away. If you're already at risk of heart attack announcements like this almost become a cruel joke. Sometimes I wish they would keep these findings to themselves until they are ready to start treating people

I’m 67 years old, had quadruple heart bypass at 50 years old and this kind of news is exciting and gives hope. I love it, I think it’s truly awesome and amazing wish I could live much longer to see what the future holds.

Caveat: don’t expect to see this treatment for at least another 10 years as is usual with these medical breakthrough announcements.

For someone who was fit and active and had a heart attack at 36, this should be invested in heavily. Very interesting even though its early days.
