This is something I needed to hear.. for years I would always set up and my first move is what Russell shows in this video. I always felt it was wrong but it would help my kind and body calculate the swing path. Thanks Russell for this confirmation!

Bought your swing buddy last night. Excited for it. I have a towel I use but it’s not the same

I’ve been watching and learning from you for years.
Please do a video on how we can make more consistent hits on center of club face.
My swing is better, ball goes farther, but I can feel I am hitting all around the center of clubface. TY

What about the idea of starting with the clubhead and body about a foot behind the ball to begin with. I see Jon Rahm do this now, and Moe Norman of course a while ago. It seems like a good way to get that width in from the beginning.

I was taught this many years ago and when I feel my driver misbehaving I tend to gravitate to doing a rehearsal of this before hitting my next drive. I was always taught low and slow.

I struggle with driver consistency so hopefully this tip will help. I actually started using a mini driver, so am set up a bit differently with that compared to a normal driver - would this tip work for that club as well as fairway woods etc?

Great video. Right to the point, no wasting my time listening to someone yammer on. Do more. Oh, great tip, as well.

Since i've practiced your driving teachings w/ width, keeping the lead arm straight thru backswing and impact, has gained me a good 30yrds and much more accuracy. I still heel or toe 1 from time to time though. 😋 Thx Russ 🫵🫡

Worked on this with driver/fairways and seemed to work. Irons, however, not so much. Just me or is it not suited to shorter clubs? Thanks.

Russ, was Moe on to something when he *started* back there, at address? Should we be taking a page from Moe's book?

Not sure this is the best advice. As the clubhead moves back it also moves up because the left shoulder moves down while the right moves up. Must get the proper amount of back, up and in. This focussed too much on back. And will lead to an under the pane move back. Yes Moe Norman placed the club straight back well behind the ball at address but then he brought it well inside under the plane. Low and slow is old teaching and will create problems. Watch Nellie Korda. The club comes back but also up and in while on plane. Width is over rated.
