Singer-songwriter Billie Eilish is just beginning to know herself. With her latest album, "Hit Me Hard and Soft," and her current tour (her first without brother Finneas and her parents), the music superstar (soon to turn 23) is discovering parts of herself she didn't know were there. She describes to correspondent Anthony Mason finding a new voice as a songwriter, and about stretching her singing after starting vocal lessons. [Watch more from Mason's interview with Eilish on "CBS Mornings" December 10.]

Protect Billie, Finneas & family at all costs. So genuine, thoughtful, smart and talented. I’m nearly 40 and this is the most I’ve ever liked a musician.

Can we get the unedited release?

Just a nice young lady. As is her brother. Kinda speaks volumes for homeschooling and the importance of music and the arts in general for producing well rounded kind people.

The end of the interview feels like the beginning of something big. I don’t know what Billie, but something big feels like it’s coming…

happy to see her happy here
She has changed so much from her last CBS interview back in 2019? I think where she talked about her mental health and such. I loved that interview bc it was real and I felt comforted for feeling the same. I loved how honest she was and still is.

I can't describe how much I love this girl

I wish her all the success for the rest of her life without sacrificing who she is as a person. The industry is a cruel and predatory place where too many artists lose their true selves especially if they became famous at a very young age.

I’m 59 and have been a massive music fan most of my life. She’s so spectacular. I must have listened to Hit Me hundreds of times since the release.

Attended one of her concerts with my daughter. I observed and loved that the audience was a blend of people from every age, and cultural background. True beauty to see and enjoy. Very few artist can attract such an audience!❤

23?! Ridiculous. I am so so far out of this artist's demo, but Billie is a cultural icon and dare I say great role model. All the success is much deserved.

Thanks for an intelligent, respectful interview with Billie. Sometimes I am concerned about interviews of my favorite stars, but this was great!
