I used to love listening to Francis Chan when I was a protestant. A few years ago when he started talking about the church fathers and the Eucharist, I figured it wouldn't be long before he joined the Catholic Church. I bet it's weighing on him heavily. Pray for this man.

My gosh! Blessed be God. This was the same reason why Dr. Scott Hahn decided that the Catholic Church is the one true church of Jesus Christ. Having 1 Pope (vs. 33, 000 popes) with more than 2 thousand years of church rich tradition and history, way before the split.

I think we spend too much time debating doctrinal differences. With that being said, I will leave you with this quote from John Wesley:
“I will not quarrel with you about my opinion only see that your heart is right toward God; that you know and love the Lord Jesus Christ, that you love your neighbour and walk as your master walked and I desire no more. I am sick of opinions; am weary to bear them; my soul loathes this frothy food. I always loved Francis Chan. Because he is a sincere man who loves the Lord Jesus Christ by the best of his knowledge. He is a living proof that God is not only working in the Catholic Church.

FACT: none of the Ancient Churches support sola scriptura. NONE!

I watched that whole video months ago and it was wonderful!

Although Francis Chan was clearly wrestling through that issue, nowhere does he state that he outright rejects the doctrine of sola scriptura, (where scripture is the final authority, but not the only authority.)
Many thoughtful Protestants also have a high view of the councils and church fathers.

Your video also gives the impression that Francis Chan is ready to leave Protestanism, but has there been any update to prove that since the time of that video?

Also, it's always a good idea to put a link to the whole video you reference. It builds credibility and shows you're not taking things out of context!

I LOVE Francis Chan's honest search for the truth, wherever it leads him. I would really love to sit down and talk faith with him.

The truth just resonates in this video. Francis Chan is a superb example of intellectual honesty at work, and perhaps the Holy Spirit, as opposed to a stubborn and prideful adherence to a belief without admitting you could be wrong.
