Pope Francis appoints first woman manager in Vatican

Pope Francis has appointed Dr. Francesca Di Giovanni as undersecretary for multilateral affairs in the Vatican Secretariat of State, making her the first-ever woman to be appointed to the Holy See’s Secretariat of State. Dr. Francesca Di Giovanni was born in Palermo in 1953. She holds a law degree and has experience of working in the secretariat for 27 years. Commenting on his new role, Dr. Francesca Giovanni said that she would try to do her best to live up to the Holy Father’s trust. She said “The Holy Father has made an unprecedented decision, certainly, which, beyond myself personally, represents an indication of attention towards women.”

Cardinal Robert Sarah publishes new book

"From the Depths of Our Hearts", a book written by Cardinal Robert Sarah, prefect of the Congregation for Divine worship with a contribution from Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI was published in French on January 15. An English edition of the same will be released by Ignatius Press on February 20. In the new book, they defend priestly celibacy, an issue that was discussed at last year's Amazon synod. In a statement, Ignatius Press said that through this new book, Cardinal Sarah and the former pontiff “give their brother priests and the whole Church a message of hope” and “honestly address the spiritual challenges faced by priests today, including struggles of celibacy.” Ignatius Press founder, Father Joseph Fessio said that the book also discusses the nature of the Church and of Christian discipleship.

Father Joseph Bature Fidelis of Maiduguri Diocese, Nigeria has made a strong appeal to the international community to take stringent action against the ongoing persecution of Christians in Northern Nigeria. Joseph Fidelis made an earnest plea not be silent on this grave issue since people there are suffering every day. Around 6000 Christians have been killed since 2015 by the fundamentalist Islamic militants in Nigeria. The security measures are taken by the government of Muhammadu Buhari, has proved to be insufficient and incapable of protecting the Christian communities.

During his general audience on Wednesday, Pope Francis called on Christians to became courageous evangelizers. He said that we should ask the Holy Spirit to stimulate in all of us the call to be courageous and determined evangelizers. Pope Francis said that the Church does not tire of welcoming with a mother's heart every man and woman, to announce to them the love of the Father who became visible in Jesus. The Holy Father concluded the general audience with a prayer.

The Lords Supper is simply the fulfillment of the Passover Supper. Jesus prepares His table for us in the presence of our enemies ( sickness diseases etc &) Jesus is present at His table and with his Passover bread and cup. Matthew 18:20. This is the presence of Jesus at his table. Jesus our Great High Priest forever blesses the Passover bread and cup and declares When we participate in the Passover bread and cup then we get the same benefits as Israel got when they ate the Passover lamb and applied the cup. For Christ our Passover lamb has been sacrificed 1 Corinthians 5:7.When Israel ate the lamb and applied the the blood they were participating in the Calvary sacrifice just as when we eat the Passover bread and cup we are participating in the Calvary sacrifice. There is only one perfect sacrifice and one continuous celebration Supper. There is nobody changing anything into any thing but it’s imputed to us that we are participating in Jesus Calvary sacrifice

What is happening during the Echaristic Prayer is a most Holy action, there are 8 parts but I'd like to point out how the priest, the only one ordained to do so, will breath the Word of Jesus Christ onto the bread and wine as he says, "TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT, FOR THIS IS MY BODY, WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU." The Word is made Flesh by the power of the Word.

I will support this Fact: We eat the Body and drink the Blood of Christ Jesus because he made it quite clear in John 6. Don't be the weak followers who fell away because of this whom can be found in John 6:66 (quite telling) Then let us convince anyone that has reason to doubt this fact to respect those who gave their lives at the very beginning to defend this truth like Ignatius, Polycarp, and my favorite which I will quote, Justin Martyr:

"...For not as common bread and common drink do we receive these; but in like manner as Jesus Christ our Saviour, having been made flesh by the Word of God, had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so likewise have we been taught that the food which is blessed by the prayer of His word, and from which our blood and flesh by transmutation are nourished, is the Flesh and Blood of that Jesus who was made flesh.” – (First Apology, 66)
