My wife and I have rented these RV's several times. We really like them. We had a few questions that I couldn't find answered anywhere online so I made this video to show some of the features/walk through/operations of the standard Cruise America rental RV. If you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments. We'd be glad to help other renters. Drive safe, have a great trip, and if this video has been helpful to you please "like" and "subscribe". Thanks!

Safe travels!

Seeing all of the things on this RV sure brought back some fond memories. My late wife (20+ years now) and I had an older 27' Allegro, 1978, that we refurbished on the inside and did a few upgrades to the electrical to make it more convenient and safer. We spent many memorable hours in that old coach. It was almost a given that any three-day holiday weekend was going to find us out on the road with it. When we bought the house I'm living in now we installed an electrical outlet on the side of the house to plug the RV into house power and also added a sewer receptacle to our septic tank so that we could dump our grey and black tanks once we came back from a trip. We sold the RV just before she was diagnosed with cancer as we were in the process of doing some remodeling on our home and just didn't have time to use or maintain it. I have often wished I still had that old coach just to get away and enjoy some time away from familiar surroundings. One thing I will tell you is if you are married to not just your partner but your best friend, RV'ing can be the most fun you can ever have. RIP, Kitten.

We rented this RV in 2016 for a trip to Indy. It was our first experience with Cruise America. Most of the details shown are accurate. The upper sleeper compartment is invaluable! First, the kids get a bit of privacy, even though its small, but it also lets you keep the dinette table open all the time for much needed table space & seats. I can’t see having more than 4 people in this model. Compared to other rental companies, they are fine, but realize the stores are independently operated & your experience will vary greatly.
In 2017, we rented again from Cruise America, but this time the larger 30 ft model. What a difference! For about the same money, you get a larger bed in the back, a sofa, & generally more room. The biggest difference was driving. We noticed side winds would push around the 25 ft version, while the 30ft, had no issues. Both drove the same & had similar gas mileage at around 10-12 MPG (NJ to Indy & back)
It’s a shame more companies do not rent these because the Cruise America RV’s are pretty basic. There is no awning, no slide outs, & no TV’s & DVD players. All the other smaller companies offer these amenities.
Overall, good experience, but now I’d like to see alternatives.

My wife and I are renting the CA standard RV for our first RV trip. This video was more helpful on how to prepare than anything on the CA website. Thanks.

Very helpful!
We're preparing for our first ever RV trip: three humans, three large nervous felines, one way from the SF Bay Area to East Tennessee. Having a handle on the cargo space, cooking capabilities, and so on is just the sort of thing we need right now. (That, and a good weather forecast for the last week of the year.)

My kid wanted to know what an RV is, and this was a great tour to show him. Thank you.

This video was very informative. To show my appreciation I restarted the video to let the two ads run all the way through as I read through all of the questions and comments :) I've never RV'd before and was thinking about how renting one of these so this video helped answered some questions I always wondered.

THANK YOU!! It is so much easier to get an idea in a walkthrough! Pictures don't tell the story.

I enjoyed this video, very helpful. We are thinking of renting an RV now that we are retired. Need to visit family in several states. Thanks for the education!!!

I've rented from Cruise America 3 times, the 19 ft model once and this model twice. You did a good walk around. These are nicely setup, worth it as a practical way to go RVing without owning an RV.

This is how my wife and me started out with one of these . Did it twice (upstate ny) we are from the Boston area and are now in a 38 ft 5th wheel, been in it going on 4 years, snowbirding in Florida. Definitely recommend doing this first

I was a teenager the last time i went camping. My parents always had us in an rv. I want to get my wife and kids into RVing. Although I feel very comfortable operating an RV, this is a very good video for first timers and a refresher for those that haven't been out in awhile. Great work!

Wow this video will be extremely helpful for me to pack and plan accordingly. Thank you!! I camped a lot growing up, however, as an adult I have not camped much which has turned me into “more of an indoor girl” 😂 so I will be packing my 500 thread count sheets. 😂
Seriously...this video is awesome...thank you so much for taking the time to do this!!

Thanks for posting.
Will be picking up this model tomorrow and going from FL to AZ for my oldest sons wedding. I was surprised there was no TV at all.

Thanks Mike for taking the time to do the walkthrough. It is very helpful for me as I am about to rent an RV for the first time in my life in Florida and learnt a lot from your video.
