I wanted to offer more of a realistic review of these RVs as most the reviews on YouTube are pretty sugarcoated.

😄👍I have rented 30 FT a few times because it is cheaper and bigger also more comfort and more space and a bigger shower. I recommend 30 FT

We never had any issues with the 2 times we rented one. Once in Utah, once in Canada although we never used the showers, all the fixtures worked as expected.

I rented the 30 ft. Broke down after 300 miles, no replacement due to Memorial Day frenzy. Mine only had 1/2 tank of gas, no fresh water, they hadn’t unwinterized it, so I had to. Drives like shit and VERY The rear bumper was falling off, none of the storage locked except for one, and the key broke off on that one. For the money, nope, never again. This comment is live by the way. We are still waiting for the replacement RV as I speak. None were available and so we wait.

First time RV'ing here and picking it up next week. Looks like everyone is doing the RV thing.
We started to look to rent about a month out and had a hard time finding one that was available.
Am def looking over every inch (after watching this) in the walk through since we are going 2500 miles in 10 days and can't afford a break down.
Any tips and tricks from experienced RV's is highly appreciated.

I've rented from CA 3 times, once from Vegas, then Phoenix and then Salt Lake. Every experience was great! One had pretty high miles, 95K, it was the most worn obviously but it all worked. What was the mileage of the rig you rented?

I rented one this week. I had a newer model. Bluetooth radio was the one upgrade. the price was much more expensive, at $236 a night, when counting the full coverage on any damage, and taxes. Only got 500 miles with the rental. I'm sure I'm going to go over that. we only got an average of 8.7 mpg. the RV was VERY noisy when driving, and we felt/heard every bump in the road. We aren't completely disenchanted on doing the RV thing, but won't ever really rent from Cruise America.

Renting a travel trailer, if I get a truck that could tow one, would improve the experience. less concern over the miles and gas prices, plus finding places to park the RV.

we stayed at an RV park for nights, so we never used the shower or toilet. used the bathroom for more storage.

Just finished a brand new relocation of a CA rv from Chicago to Las Vegas. Water heater stopped working and the refrigerator stopped working on day 7 (of 14). These are cheap units but I am disappointed because these things should work on a brand new rv. It is very noisy and being on a Ford frame did not help. The engine did not sound new, even with 200 miles on the odometer. Might have been missing a muffler? But, it was a lot cheaper to rent for 14 days than buying one.

with rental vehicles you need to really need check every inch of it make sure there is no damage if there is ... show them so they can mark it off the check out sheet.. or you will or maybe charged for any damage that you did not create .. but keep in mind these unit are rented out on a regular basis and lots of people rent them out.. also heater was put in but most people go camping in the summer rarely ever get used. other than that .. learn each time you rent

They sold me one of their old 30ft motorhomes at about 125000 miles.... Didn't see any issues, they must have redone the whole thing before reselling it. I did find loose cabinet hinges and multiple screw holes in some places, but they were a relatively easy fix. No leaks so far, and based on what I've seen, looks like all new sealant. I think they sell RV's around 115000-135000 mark, so the RV you were renting was probably on it's last legs on it's rental career. Rental rate not bad considering that you're getting a hotel room and a rental car in one package... I agree the condition could've been a lot better.

How dumb could they be to place the heater underneath the refrigerator. I don’t know anything about RVs, & I can tell u that was a stupid idea. No wonder the food is never really that cool, & you had to throw away your cottage cheese. 🤦

Is this the first time you ever used a camper? Those gray and black water gauges almost never read right on any camper. That class camper is always noisy, I also rented one and hated that toilet, I'm only 5'8" and my legs would fall asleep just sitting on it, stupid design. I drove over 2000 miles and had no issues with the transmission, I would have turned around and asked for a different one.

Too many issues!! Where is the quality control, they could easily see all of this and fix it if they cared. Changing my view of using them for an rv.

Quality is just very bad, including how it looks. Super tacky how it says the rental stuff on the outside.

Thank you for your HONEST review!

I'm curious about whether you had the walk-through prior to driving away with it. Would think you would have noticed a few of those things during that and talked it over with the folks at that store.

Which Cruise America did you rent from?

This isn’t a real cruise America rv…it’s one that they’ve decommissioned that you picked up on sale
